The National are boring to me and that's not me being lazy. I've legit tried to get into them over and over and over but that band never clicked with me for some reason.

 

but you could dig deeper, why do you find it boring? Are the vocals monotonous? does the music not really feel like it goes anywhere? I agree just saying something is good and leaving it at that is equally lazy.

 

Yeah the vocals are monotonous and also the music/instrumentation bores me for the most part but I still think they are a decent band they just don't do much for me that's all.

I won't stop trying with The National tho. I still revisit them every so often to see if my opinion changes on them. I'm sure you all have bands that you feel that way about. Like I can recognize that they are good at their craft but something about them just doesn't quite click with me. I can't connect/vibe with it.

 

@teebs41 we've talked about them in the Circa thread before don't you feel similarly towards The National?
