Still another example of how the game globally is equalizing; really cool to see

Whole second half was great. Neither team ever seems willing to sit back and wait for extra time / penalties. Feel bad for Japan, but credit where credits due Belgium kept their cool going down 2-0 and earned the win.

    Gutting for Japan.

Belgium are terrible and Brazil are going to destroy them.

Martinez deserves a bit of credit in the end. He got it wrong at the start, but made the right subs in the end and they won the game for him. Fair play.

Thing is, he won't learn. Playing one midfielder is always going to be a recipe for trouble. They'll start the next game with De Bruyne and Witsel again and stink it up for 60 minutes.

If Martinez doesn't sort out the Belgium midfield and defence, which he has never looked like doing, Brazil will find it easy to create chances.

  12. Swap Dembele for Carrasco. 4231 formation.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

I was in the gym during that game and had to stay on cardio machines to keep watching. Nearly killed me.

Great finishing by Japan. I thought Martinez's subs were insane, but they worked so well.

World Cup continues to be a mad house. I'm dreading England tomorrow.

Loved the Belgium vs Japan game last night, but it was heartbreaking for Japan. What a moment at the end. Credit to Martinez - when they went 2-0 down I said to those who I watched with that this was one of those moments where I'm not sure you want Martinez as manager. Does he have enough to turn it around? I mean, this is the guy who managed to get Wigan relegated the same season that they won the FA Cup. Is he tactically astute enough? It could be amazing or it could be terrible. Thankfully for Belgium it was amazing. I think Fellaini in that advanced attacking midfielder role is much more effective than the way that Man Utd often utilise him. To come back from 2-0 down and win in normal time is impressive. I'm pleased that they got through as they'll give Brazil a good go (I don't want Brazil to win this tournament).

Seeing a team win from 2-0 down made me reflect on England. If we go 2-0, do we have enough about us to turn it around?

I'm cautious about tonight. I think Colombia are a good team and we're going to find out how good England really are. I hope we win and I'm going to be gutted if we don't. I don't want to raise my expectations too high and I don't want this team to feel pressure. Just go out and play some good football, create some good chances and let's see what happens! Anything else is a bonus! (All the press and random people saying it's an 'easy' path to the final are stressing me out).

I think Fellaini, or someone else needs to start the next game. If they go into it with the midfield that started yesterday they could easily be picked off.

Barca potentially signing Lenglet. I love it.

And what a way you won me over

I'm not sure he adds a whole lot in terms of defense. Either way would rather see Demebele start tbh.

Yellow card suspensions in a tournament with 7 games max are stupid anyway.

At least they reset them after the quarters. The amount of players who used to miss the final was sad for them.

To be fair though, I don't think 2 yellow cards triggering a suspension is too harsh. They should strive for no yellow cards.

They just need another body in there for me. Japan had a fairly easy time with Belgium's midfield yesterday until Fellaini came on, suddenly the numbers advantage in the centre wss gone.

Chadli instead of Carrasco helped too, he was shocking yesterday.

If it weren't for the Swiss player's foot, the goalkeeper would have had that
