Oh boy @littlejohn, my Redbox experience tonight has been less than stellar.

 

I went to see Tag tonight and afterwards I figured I’d pick up a movie from Redbox. So before Tag starts, I reserved a movie from what I thought was Redbox in the Walmart across the street from my theatre. I go to the kiosk after the movie, and it says I have nothing reserved there. I check my confirmation and it turns out I made the reservation at the Walmart about 5 miles down the road. A little out of the way from how I’d normally go home, but not that bad of a drive. So I’m like, “no biggie”.

I get there and the screen is unresponsive, so I can’t pick up the movie. So then I get on chat with Vince and he is, of course, very apologetic and gives me a replacement promo since he can’t technically cancel my current reservation. I’m like “this is fine, there’s another kiosk at the other end of the Walmart.” So I head across the store and think everything will be aces now.

Well, it’s not fine @littlejohn because that kiosk has neither Pacific Rim: Uprising, nor does it have Annihilation. And I’ve heard it’s lovely, but I wasn’t in the mood for The Greatest Showman. So I’m at a loss here.

 

I'm no little John but have you tried turning it off and on?

 

There was actually a moment where I was like oh it’s no problem because I’ll just reset the thing. Then reality set in and I’m like wait a second...there is no way they would make it so that a regular customer could just turn their machine off.

I wish! Some of it will last a while, but a lot of it will be gone within a week or 2 since it was pretty much just food, beverages, and diapers.
