What are you talking about? It’s completely normal that my girlfriend and I could be both working full time and not afford a one bedroom apartment in a bad area

I liked this because I empathize, not because I actually like the facts of this post.

My current student loan balance is more than my mortgage. Unless things change for me dramatically, I'm over here banking on that loan forgiveness after 25 years of payments and I'll let Future Chris deal with those tax consequences.

yikes. I "only" have 7k left on mine that i've been paying for 5 years. my wife just finished her first year of grad school and her loan is probably at 15k already. we looked at the numbers and there just was no way we'd be able to pay for everything getting the minimum student loans we needed just to cover tuition so we took out pretty much double. it's not going to be fun paying those for the rest of our lives.

in 2 years when she goes back to working full time, kids are in public school things will be much better financially. until then it's going to be rough.

Student loans suck. My husband and I were at 75k and now we are down to about 14k. We don't go out much to say the least lol

I can sympathize with everyone in regard to student loans!

My wife has $50,475 (to be exact haha) of student loans that for better or worse are now my loans too.

Ahhh, the joys of secondary education!

Hey just yesterday I accepted my student loan package for the upcoming year. Relatively speaking, my school is pretty cheap, but I’m gonna have to do a masters program eventually so that’ll suck

We talking student loans? I have like $16,000 left in student loans and i didn’t get a degree. So it’s like $16,000 of completely thrown away money

I owe the Canadian government like $11,000 because I didn't do my taxes for 5 years like a taint, so now I pay them $500 a month and am so filled with joy about it

I can't even conceptualize of qualifying for a student loan should I find something interesting education-wise. I'm 33, I'm just dying at this point
