Thanks, I do wish other people on here would try to acknowledge this instead of being stubborn, but that's their relative privilege compared to mine that is speaking and they don't really want to let go of that, obviously. It took this long for someone to just admit this, even though they're not even part of the problem LOL, but you sincerely have no idea how much I appreciate that you took the time out to say this. So, thanks to you, immensely, bubs.

You know every time you say this it has the opposite effect - we'll just end up it reading it anyway. lol

 

This is a really good mixture of data and interviews... I should probably be reading Buzzfeed more. That's a sentence I wouldn't have said 5 years ago.

It's just so disheartening that you can't look up anything political on Twitter without seeing vile hatred

 

Not expecting anyone to run on "no deportations" or "abolish DHS" but it doesn't seem like other people have trouble saying "abolish ICE" and leaving it at that so no, I'm not going to give her credit even if she's "outflanking Bernie" or whatever. It's not hard for her to just say "abolish ICE" and that's it. It's not reassuring when she speaks about restructuring and reimagining, esp to those vulnerable.

To be clear, I gave up on Bernie a while back (see the "Bernie is not the Left" article I posted), but I'm also not going to deny that if it wasn't for him, I actually wouldn't be where I am now. And he still faced a lot of obstacles back during the election because the bare fucking minimum of free college and healthcare is too scary and wrong for this congress. Not that that's entirely relevant, but I want people to know haha.

My situation is more complicated, I haven't even registered tho I could, but I have personal reasons why I'm not in a position to do so. Furthermore, I don't know what you mean by "the left", but if it wasn't for prominent liberals, Hillary cultists, and other Democrats going on about "fuck non voters" , then "the left" wouldn't be responding in kind with actual analysis. And if these liberals actually gave a fuck about voter suppression, they'd work on that (something productive) instead of crying "fuck non voters" (antagonistic, not productive).

 

People who are saying "abolish ICE" and leaving it at that (none of whom are Senators) are getting attacked for having no actual depth to that position and saying it for left cred. It reads to me like she was trying to specify exactly what that would entail. And separating "the criminal justice from the immigration issues" is exactly what the goal of abolishing ICE is. I don't understand what the negative implication of restructure and reimagining is, other than that deportations will continue, which you acknowledge is a given. Plus, I don't even really think that's what she meant, I think she was much more talking about the customs side of things, like the people whose job it is make sure no foreign invasive plant species or stolen ancient architecture gets through customs. These people: 19 ICE agents write letter calling on Homeland Security to abolish the controvesial agency

I still haven't seen a decrease in federal deductions from my paycheck

 

My hours on my check stay mostly the same within 3 hours. Ive comparing checks since February. The amount they take has increased by $30 the first check, and is now $45 more than before this kicked in.

 

I'm getting about 40 more bucks per week.
