I hate how far behind we are this year on everything lol

At this point last year we already had the album plays, full lineup and the daily lineups

I can't imagine that next week we don't get at least one of those

I think unless they got someone else to play guitar, another Slapstick reunion is unlikely. Matt Stamps was one of the founders and main songwriters. He went on to become a lawyer and last I heard worked for a pretty conservative firm. Relations between him and Brendan were already not great for the last reunion because the law firm didn’t want Matt playing and I think Brendan made a joke on stage, Matt got more pissed, said he wouldn’t do another reunion, and they have not spoke since. I think that is the general gist of it at least.

    Whatever. Forever.

Bummer, but that first Slapstick reunion was awesome. One of the first mosh pits I ever was in and my buddy's shirt got wrecked. Classic memory

If it’s the Spice Girls that would be absolutely insane.

Yeah that Slapstick album is so underrated. It’s kind of funny to think that if Slapstick signed to Epitaph like Brett proposed what would have happened. They were right in that ‘90s ska wheelhouse with The Suicide Machines. They also had one of the horn players that went on to play with Less Than Jake on Losing Streak and Hello Rockview. A lot of good bands spawned or were tied to Slapstick.

I've always put off listening to Slapstick but I just listened to the album and am glad I did

I know they played RF in 2012. Honestly all you really need is Dan, Brendan and fill ins if they wanted to play again

From the outside in and the success of Larry and trio it’s easy to draw that conclusion, but neither were the main songwriters for that band. Brendan came in on the late end. It’s mostly the other member’s band.

There are a few reasons Brendan or Dan hasn’t pushed to do much with Slapstick. One, I don’t think either really want to play much ska music at this point. The other is that it was other dudes respected in the general Chicago area that wrote a lot of the songs. Brendan and and Dan definitely were involved, but it was never their project, if that makes sense.

Brendan joining took that band to a point to get signed by Epitaph, but Brendan didn’t want to do it (his first strike) and left to do The Broadways with his best friend Chris from The Lawrence Arms. Dan went on to do Tuesday with Matt Stamps (I think). The Broadways disbanded and The Lawrence Arms became a thing. Dan, eventually got picked up by the trio. Brendan got his chance to go to a big label again with The Lawrence Arms and then had the Warped incident happen (second strike), which was really unfortunate and overblown.
