Going to a wedding this weekend. I haven't been to a wedding since middle school. This should be interesting.

 

I got that impression from the ads. I looked further into the story bc of your comment and it is definitely not Disney princess like at all. I misspoke.

My sister's boyfriend went to shake my hand and I did that stupid thing where you go for it then comb your hair with your hand. He's a jokester but I still feel like an asshole.

I hate when there's a sequel and it undoes everything done in the previous film

 

I think X-Men did it in a good way.

 

I don't think I have it in my heart to forgive the Terminator series for basically turning itself into a time paradox that never ends.

 

I've never watched any of those movies but I'm watching alien 3 rn and I was so distraught the first few minutes like why they gotta do that?? I had formed emotional connections!

 

Like how the third one had the exact same plot as the second one?

Well, that's because of executive meddling. It's a bit of a story but I'll cover the important bits. So when Alien 3 was in pre-production, it was originally going to be set on this artificial planet that inside was this 14th century world that people lived in to get away from the modern world. It was supposed to start with the ship landing on this lake at the top of this planet and then shit goes sideways. Overall, the suits at 20th Century Fox got cold feet on the whole thing and fired the director, whom wrote the script. Since they've spent all this money on sets and all that, they pressed forward with hasty rewrites and dumped it on a little known music video director named David Fincher. So throughout the production of this movie, they constantly retooled and messed around with the script, thus making the movie the incoherent mess that it is today. Fun fact, David straight up hates this movie and refuses to have anything to do with it. In fact, he is the only director who didn't return for the Quadrilogy DVD set.

 

Exactly, it was like they just threw out the ending of 2 and just decided to redo the whole thing because why not? Still kinda wish they kept in that deleted scene of Arnold with a Southern accent, just for the hilarity of it.

 

That makes sense because I'm still watching it and it's awful and so dumb I cannot deal.

 

That movie should literally be told as a ghost story in film school about executive meddling. It's one of the most concise, well documented cases of it to ever exist. What's truly bad about it for as bad as Resurrection is, it's still a much better movie than 3 or it's director's cut.

 

By the way, the TV Tropes article on executive meddling is one of the greatest treasures of information that you will ever come across about Hollywood and the bad decisions it loves to make. I've lost hours reading it and the links connected to it.

With Nicole Kidman? That's actually a pretty decent movie, cool premise.

 

The alien looks soooooo bad too. I think the aliens hold up pretty well in the first two but omg it's so bad here

Yeah, never seen it. The good thing about things expiring on Netflix is it forces me to watch things I've been putting off, which is why I knocked out The Faculty earlier

 

It supposed to be a regular xenomorph that we know and love. In fact, there was this whole sequence planned for it to stalk the people of the planet on the farming level of it, in a corn field if I remember right.

 

Another great one, so many stars in that. Such a fun movie too, I've seen it multiple times and I never get bored or sick of it.

 

I really need to buy the faculty since it's constantly being taken on and off and I can't handle the instability!!
