Actually, Cavs have quite a few expiring contracts - technically speaking. George Hill, JR Smith and Kyle Korver are all on non-guaranteed deals for 19-20.

And it looks to me like the Hornets prefer under-performing (former) Cavs centers with 2 years left on their contract :)

I'd like to trade for Kemba, but I'd only trade for him if we were giving up Thompson or JR or Hill, but I don't see that happening. Cavs can't give them Love and the 8 pick. Too much for someone who could leave in a year and still wouldn't be enough to put the Cavs past Golden State (assuming LeBron and Love stay with Kemba).

EDIT: I did not see @Blimp City Hero's response before typing this out.

  4. The draft getting wild really relies on the Kings lmao

  5. i would give up all 4 2019 picks + Terry for any of the tops 4 picks without a thought. can't imagine it won't take more but hopefully someone will be dumb enough

  6. Could probably bring in a third team to take that Parsons contract

I just don't see how in any way, shape, or form, the Nuggets could pull something like this off lol. They're going to have minimal cap space once they max out Jokic to take on that Parsons contract and they're not flush with any other big assets

8 and Kevin are getting tossed around in possible CJ McCollum trades. no way the same package is used for kemba. no way at all.

  10. everyone is saying "Bamba shooting 3s in the gym doesn't mean anything, Andre Drummond shot 3s in the gym last summer too"

but he shot 68% FT in college and made 14 3s in games

so as far as im concerned if he gets drafted by the celtics he will be literally 7'1 Al Horford within a year

  11. lol ive never not known the answer to this

To me, packaging Kevin Love with the No. 8 pick for anyone makes zero sense - unless you're getting a hell of a package back. LeBron and Kemba or LeBron and CJ are still not anywhere near good enough to compete for a title. Cavs need LeBron, Love and another all-star. If you trade Love, you're just replacing an all-star with an all-star and you're still pretty much back at square one.

you aren’t at square one though. square one is having jr smith, george hill and rodney hood as your main guards in an increasingly-guard driven league. lebron + CJ/Kemba is a much more valuable duo for success than lebron + kevin. kevin love is easier to replace than trying to find another CJ or Kemba without giving up something of value.

Can the clippers even trade DeAndre? He’s got a player option he hasn’t opted into yet.

I agree that Kemba/CJ are more valuable than Kevin Love. But you're still replacing a 22 point scorer, with a 18 point scorer (and losing a ton of rebounds and a legitimate 3-point threat). To entice LeBron AND to still compete for a title, you can't replace, you need to add. I think Kemba could actually be had for a combination of JR, Hill, Korver and the 8 pick. For Charlotte, you get two picks in the top 11 and you shed a lot of salary for 2019 - for a player that would likely leave them.

If it’s gonna get crazy it’s gonna have to get crazy very soon. Don’t think teams can trade 2018 draft picks after 2pm EST today

I mean they can always trade mid draft - which is probably holding a lot of things up since no one knows what the hell the Kings or Hawks are going to do

  25. Yeah I don’t think much will happen before 2. Maybe some 2nd round picks exchanged.

Teams will just wait and trade players during the draft
