a bit. tbh, i need to listen to them a lot more because i've liked what i've heard, but its always been in passing or on a playlist. one of my friends digs them a lot and has told me to check out their latest album. guess i'm adding that to my queue for today.

I get that way too much. There's way too much new music in my backlog, but I've been finding myself going back listening to "essential" bands that I missed when I was younger recently...and have been pretty happy with the results TBH. I'm technically in the near burbs now after living in Jefferson Park and Logan Square for four years...I still am in the city one to two times a week for things like shows and hanging out with friends. I went to Self Defense Family/Sannhet/RLYR on Saturday and have a bunch more shows schedule over the next few months. You a showgoer as well?

Still probably not worth the effort at my current place so I'll happily send it your way if I get it. I could definitely use that Echo Dot.

preach. all of the fucking weather variations we've been getting here (as @KidLightning and @Yasqueen4 can probably attest to) have been really fucking with my sinuses and allergies and gave me a cold right before it was 97 degrees last weekend. it's back down to the 60s and rainy today...but at least that's good prep for seattle this weekend.

 

yeah I have allergies sometimes too but the past month I've been dealing with a bacterial infection that I get treated with antibiotics but then a week after I finish the course it comes back. this is the 3rd time now. need to make an appointment because I don't know what's going on. it should be taken care of.

 

That's just the best. I'm rewatching the office for the 3rd time.

Currently on my second watch-through with the wife. We're knee deep in the middle of Season 9 right now and just finished the episode where Andy gets back from his three-month Bermuda trip...and I forgot he gets his comeuppance right at the end of the episode. It was the first time in Season 9 I've cackled with glee because him being off the show for a bit made me remember how much I fucking hate Andy.

 

I just finished rewatching it.

I will say this: yes, obviously the seasons with Michael are the best seasons of that show. but the few seasons without him were still good. I know they get a lot of shit, but they were still very funny and enjoyable.

 

The funniness level of The Office had started to wane as it got more popular - by Season 5, the reactions were less authentic, the camera angles were more staged - it was still funny, but there was a manufactured funny feel to it as opposed to the natural human awkwardness of the first few seasons, and the one character who felt the least manufactured to me was Michael Scott. There are funny moments in Season 8 and 9 but they always felt more forced to me.

I feel the same about Arrested Development. Seasons 1-3 are gold. I can't even drudge my way through season 4, its just painfully unfunny to me. Not even attempting season 5.

 

I personally think Stunt is peak BNL ("Light Up My Room" is such a damn beautiful song) but I respect your opinion. Never heard this cover actually.

I've seen Eve 6 like 3 or 4 times, no shame in that their albums kick ass. I've never been fully satisfied with their live show because Max sings in kind of a weird lower register that doesn't do the melodies justice IMO.

 

I thought there were some good stuff in season 5. I agree that seasons 1-3 are the best though.

again I still really enjoyed 8-9 but I can see a dip in quality and michael being a huge part of that show.
