He took NESN into being the place to watch. It wasn't in every cable package when he started and people just didn't watch some of those games. They'd listen to Troup and Joe on the radio. His predecessor Bob Kurtz was...eh. But Don kind of created that inviting face of "Red Sox Nation" for TV with Remy. And honestly their affability probably did a lot to keep people from focusing on the ownership's Machiavellian bullshit.

A lot of the times I turn the sound off and listen to music while the game is on.

The Phillies are showing there might actually be some hope for this season.

This is the weirdest Tigers team in awhile. There were so many moves this offseason, I don't know if I've ever seen this many new faces on a Tigers team. Upton, Pelfrey, Maybin, K-Rod, Aviles, Saltalamacchia, Jordan Zimmerman, it's certainly something.

Mostly hoping for a fully healthy core of Miguel Cabrera/Victor Martinez/Justin Verlander and Anibal Sanchez, plus the continued growth of JD Martinez, Daniel Norris, and James McCann. I would honestly not be surprised at any finish in the division between 1st and 4th.

Drove by the new Braves stadium while I was in that area yesterday. The entire entertainment block they are building is going to be incredible.

I was in Atlanta a few weeks ago and drove past the old stadium, couldn't really see much though.

Might have been a rumor but isn't there going to be a swimming pool? That is nuts if true lol

Looks like LaRoche is retiring because Chicago brass told him to not bring his son into the clubhouse as much anymore.

I respect the fuck out of that, tbh. Dude's a multi-millionaire. He doesn't need the money. And his kid only has one childhood. Makes the White Sox look like black hats though.

He's rich and not just from baseball. Chipper Jones, Laroche, and some friends have this hunting business together, too.

Yeah it's a shame that that's what it came down to. Good for him.

Indians fan here. Our division is going to be a back alley fight, a la Anchorman. Every team has some good talent and has winning expectations. It's going to be some fun. I fully expect some heated contests between some of these teams.
