Now that the morrissey thing is cleared up, who do we think is going to close each night? Could this finally be the year that Brand New actually closes the fest?

With there being 3-4 closers each night, I'd say it's a definite possibility. I could see them taking the slot TBS had last year, but not necessarily closing out the main stage.

    Give what you can.

Nah, they'll probably play in the evening but they won't close it out. I think the Moz statement said he's playing Saturday, Misfits will close Fri or Sun, and then the other unannounced headliner (most seem to think it's Tool) will close whatever night Misfits doesn't.

I do hope it's dark when they play though. I remember seeing them a couple of years back at like 4 in the afternoon and it was pretty underwhelming.

Are there 3-4 a night? I didn't go last year, but the past few I remember there being two. But then again I can be a moron a lot. If there's 3 or 4 a night then there's for sure a chance that Huey Lewis and the Brand News could be a closer.

I seem to recall there being 3 in 2014; one on the main stage, then two more. The main stage band finished last, but the others were performing at the same time. I think The Cure, Weezer and Bring Me the Horizon all overlapped Sunday of that year.

It wouldn't surprise me if Brand New took the slot TBS had last year. I believe they played during No Doubt and Motorhead at like 9pm. It will certainly be dark if that's the case.

The previous years' schedules are all online to see how many "closed" each night. You can't really consider anything a main stage at this point with the kind of acts we have conflicting. TBS was during Iggy Pop and SOAD, but you are basically correct.

I am still really hoping BN leads in to Morrissey, although the other best option would be to put them in the Faith No More/Alkaline Trio kind of slot where they close a stage with a full length set but starting at 8 or so instead of 9. I will have a better guess once we have the mystery confirmed. They would be great against Tool.

Also, they played at 6 into sunset in 2013 so I am shocked to read someone knocking that ambiance. It was gorgeous.

My dream schedule really depends on the daily lineup breakdown and the mystery bands. I didn't have a really memorable Sunday night last year, so either Misfits closing the whole thing with huge energy or something like MCS being given a late slot to go out with a bang and a lot of emotion is perfect. I would LOVE Thursday into Misfits Friday/BN into Morrissey Saturday/MCS closing it out Sunday. Not necessarily on the same stage, just in that general order.

Haha.. I just remember being super cold and damp. I didn't stick around for the whole set, but I'm glad it was nicer than I remember for most!

I remember BMTH, The Cure, and Weezer closed out Sunday in 2014.

Ah that's right, got my nights confused! Regardless I really enjoyed the TBS set and didn't mind missing SOAD or Iggy Pop to do it.

Yes! It was rainy and awful but pretty much stopped when they came on. I remember the sun starting to go down and everything clearing up right as that played Jesus and everyone was crying.

Safe to assume the support on the fall Wonder Years tour (Moose Blood, Real Friends, Knuckle Puck) will be included in wave 2?

I hope that the Chicago date isn't Riot Fest. That lineup is stacked.

    Whatever. Forever.

Actually won the Red Eye guess the lineup contest. Not the prize pack but good enough for 2 3-days, I got around 14 of the bands right

Just realized that Social D is probably playing on Saturday. Riot Fest keeps saying they will be playing the album on its 20th anniversary, which is the 17th.

Chicago natives / people that have done Riot Fest before, any recommendations as far as areas of the city we should stay in / near? We are going to be relying on public transportation / lyft / uber for everything and are trying to catch some of the after shows as well.

For anybody from out of town that has booked their trip, any particular hotels that you found a good deal at?
