Yeah, the takes about The Parts being good are wack

 

Its a super simple song but I think its a beautiful sentiment.

 

It bores me to tears as an individual song, but mainly I think it doesn't fit in the album at all. It disrupts the flow so badly.

If you dont find beauty in that when Andy has just played out a mental map of his relationship with his SO, than youre dead inside. Such powerful imagery to me. The song makes me think of these early years with me and my wife, and also where we will go someday with eventually having children in the future.

 

lyrics are pretty. song is boring.

 

I love it as a penultimate. But I could see how someone may feel that way... maybe

 

i suppose you fiends think that The Maze is boring too

 

Not remotely, no

 

The Parts is great! This album is so complete and cohesive to me. I wouldn't change the tracklist at all

"the mistake" is amazing. how can you not love "i don't want to walk awayyyyy from you"

 

if you don't love how that line is sung are you even a fan of Mr. Hull's voice?

 

The song coulda been a Bad Books song too, but at that point that may have not been a thing. It’s seems very personal and he wanted to make sure it got out I’m all good with that. I actually like that it’s a break from the story of the album.

 

I don’t see the parts as a break from the story of the album tbh


This album is more about family lines than anything else imo, which is what The Parts is about too

A Black Mile (Story Analysis)

I like how this includes the parts and The maze in the narrative

There are a few things here that I don't fully agree with but I think it hits the nail on the head in a few spots. Also was really fun listening to the album this way and imagining this story play out.

 

The “WOOOO!!!” in The Mistake is everything.

 

nothing released this year has come even close to this album for me unfortunately :(

every song works well on the album and i wouldnt change a thing about it

 

Well yea I fully expect thrice to come close and maybe a few surprises. Just saying what’s out so far, and thats for me. This album hit me like a ton of bricks so it’s going to be tough to top
