I feel like that song was on an episode of How I Met Your Mother years ago, and that blew my mind as well.

 

This, but with The Mistake for me :D

 

It was. I just randomly caught the end of that episode.

 

To be clear, I really like “The Parts” but I just don’t think it fits on the album.

 

That's fair, I thought the Parts was a really nice breath before the Silence absolutely crushes you for seven minutes. I just cannot for the life of me remember a thing about the Mistake past the first line, it goes in one ear and out the other

 

I love The Parts, but find The Mistake the most forgettable song on an otherwise god tier album

 

I can see why people find The Mistake forgettable but I love the slow build up before Andy shouts "BUT YOU LET ME" at the end of the bridge

 

I keep forgetting to listen to this song and end up reading this thread when I’m out and about and can't listen.

 

Can't believe people don't like The Mistake.

 

Andy’s vocals are incredible in that song, really don’t get the hate for it. Love how his voice sounds in the verses and the bridge

 

Between this song coming out and Kevin Devine’s Devinyl Splits, I’m getting excited for a Bad Books records.

Also, I Know How To Speak is probably my second or third favourite song from the BMTYS era of recording,with The Gold still being not favourite.

Andy needs to still put out Rejoice and whatever other songs make up Sinful Math.

 

Aside from a couple of Radiohead songs, I've never wanted a studio version of a song as much as I want "Rejoice."

Seriously. Love the build and overall lyric storytelling in that song.

Yeah they made the right call by leaving it off the album because like they said it wasn't ready yet. Now it is and it's perfect as a off single/companion piece to Black Mile.

 

Been starting to play it after I play Black Mile and it follows it up really nicely.

I honestly love the Mistake, and I feel like it stands by itself better than a lot of songs on the record.

 

lol the mistake is so good. parts is boring.

 

The Parts should have been left off. Everything else is great.
