Guessing it's a tour.

 

A tour would be pretty redundant at this point. I'd rather them take the time to make a new album.

 

A St.Louis show just announced for August 6th and the band took new photos together.

 

They haven't toured in like 5 years so I wouldn't say redundant!

 

I found this article trying to see what the "something good is happening this week could be", it was released in March:

Kind of hard to read due to the website scrolling but the main take away was that Matt talks about how Alkaline Trio is on pause now that's he's in blink but they are all still family/friends and when asked about Trio making a new album he said they haven't had any time and he's not saying it will never happen but right now there's no time.

Again the article came out in March so not sure if it was discussed here yet or not, I don't believe it was though.

 

This confuses my emotions. Glad they're still close/family. Sad theres no effort to make time for new music.

 

People also lie in press all the time.

 

Are you referring to that they're still close or that they don't have plans/times to make new music? Or both?

 

Yeah same here but it honestly makes sense that he wouldn't have time to really do both blink and Trio stuff. Both are full time jobs unlike his past side projects.

 

But he's also said they have been writing.

The smile on my face at work is ridiculous right now. People are looking at me like I'm stupid.

 

Past Lives definitely wasn't 5 years ago. More like 2 or 3 at best, and they've still had shows every year since then.

 

They had show here and there. They haven't been to Philly in about 4 years and other cities. They haven't done a proper tour in sometime.

 

They did the NY Past Live shortly after Matt joined blink so I think it's been about three years since they really did something significant tour wise.
