The lyrics are probably the most socially relevant contextually to the time it was released, out of all of their singles. It feels important

 

So they did a separate music video for spotify.

 

I think the fact that they had a 30 day countdown to the release of it made it feel important too

 

And it's way better imo. Matty's "baby deer shaking in the headlights" move when he's talking about "25 and scared to go outside" is a perfect example of the kind of theatricality that this band does so well.

 

I feel like the "friends don't lie" line was inspired after watching the second season of Stranger Things.

 

Some interviewer asked him this and he claimed it had nothing to do with it

 

Any way I can see without having a Spotify account? Just checked youtube but couldn't find a second video.

 

When do we think pre-orders will be out? I'm trying to remember when the ILIWYS ones were available for pre-order and how long it was before the release. I'm guessing if the album will be out in October, the pre-orders have to be available around late August or early September at the latest? Also, we are getting at least another single before the album Jamie says! So we will have another song in a month or two!

I know what you mean. I just don't really listen to The 1975 for "edge". The vocals and lyrics are one of my favourite parts about them and a version like this brings them out a little more.
