as a reader it’s frankly baffling

 

Another great example of why pitchfork is whack when it comes to reviews.

 

Review was a hundred times better written than the music itself. I haven't listened to this and never will, don't know why I should make the effort. Kanye has nobody else to blame but himself. He's creatively spent, and it's more like he doesn't deserve to come back from this than he just can't.

Everything about this is fucking lazy and contrived & I find the fact he thinks it's good enough to release actually offensive, to say nothing of his pathetic public flameout. He should just take the L and retire.

I was just talking about it with someone, but it would be interesting to see an article connecting Man of the Woods and ye, about how these insanely rich pop icons decide to go out to the country and reconnect with nature and just....fail


although I would take Man of the Woods over ye and Pitchfork gave Man of the Woods a 3.8.....which I would probably give ye so lol

 

Man of the Woods was a little over-hated imo.


This chick who did this review did the XXXtensionchord album review last year and she brushes off his allegations in it and calls the album interesting and all that lmao. Man.... pitchfork lol.

 

Yea there are songs on Man of the Woods I like which is more than I can say on ye

 

‘Man of the Woods’ at least contains moments of inspiration. Production is on point. There’s 7 songs, at least, that do work and reach for something. It fails more than it works, but it’s better than this and at least the score represents the review itself.

 

Higher Higher imo is one of the best songs in all of JT discography

The clapback by Ye stans has been fierce and intensely condescending, which is surprising because you'd think those who still doggedly supported Kanye West right now would be paragons of respect.

the article was well written and accurate, the score is nothing but politics, look at them in totally different ways and don’t relate the two ever

 

i think its more that people are just noting that this format/practice is very stupid rather than being confused by it

 

yeah I get that. I mean, throughout every single one of the site’s eras, regardless of it’s focus, it’s always been about politics and image. it was cool to slam emo, now it’s okay to accept. pop music deserved joke reviews, now it’s what gets views and what people think is cool. the site really hasn’t changed in that regard

 

This chatter about the score vs Meagan's piece (which is very good), is why Chorus actually has the only review system that should matter if you're an actual fan of reading reviews.
