Sounds awesome! That ETID/JEW schedule conflict is rough, but I probably would’ve made the same decision. Glad you had a good time!

Nice review! I like these guys and their mix of BMTH and Architects.

Nice job on the review! I liked your approach as someone not super familiar with the genre. I didn't even know that was how he dropped the record - pretty cool!

Yeah those songs hit hard, and Silence Speaks has such catchy chorus with those harmonies. I'd love to see them live, I can imagine they probably put on a hell of a show!

I have never heard a single Architects song and have only heard one Bring me The Horizon song, Shadow Moses, you know.......because......[IMG]

You need to fix not hearing Architects, imo they’re by far the best British metal band of the last decade. I’d suggest starting with their most recent and working backwards.

Better than FFAF and Bullet? That's high priase. I'll check them out even un-prompted by a rec then! What album should I start with, or just go in order of release?

All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us

This is a single they have had out since Tom died but have not announced a new album.

You must not be counting Funeral For A Friend in that category!

I don’t really count FFAF as metal, they came up out of the whole Emo/post-hardcore scene (they did get heavier toward the tail end of their career though, I bloody love Conduit).

While I acknowledge I’m not a huge fan of them personally, I think it’s the general consensus (at least in the UK) that Bullet have had a patchy career with some great albums and some not so good ones.

I'll check it out! Dunno anything about the band members and history but that sounds sad.

I love all of FFAF's stuff, even though I can admit they have a fewer weaker ones in the middle. Welcome Home Armaggon and Conduit was like a fresh breath though and ruled.

I'd say the same for Bullet, Hand of Blood/Poison/ScreamAimFire are all great and then had a couple weaker ones, to come back with Venom which was so good.

Yeah I agree with Nate, start with All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us and then try Lost Forever/Lost Together. They’re a band that generally have been getting better with every release they’ve put out.

Also I’ll put Nate’s comment about Tom into context for you as I feel it’s worth knowing when going into their more recent material it is a sad story though.

Tom was the guitarist of the band and the main songwriter. He was battling cancer for the last few years before he died. A lot of the lyrics on the last 2 albums are about the battles he was going through at the time. Tom sadly passed away just after the release of All Our Gods and his legacy lives on in their music.

Honestly I (along with most the crowd) was broken when they did the tribute to Tom at the Ally Pally show I went to earlier this year, absolutely bawled my eyes out.

This is awesome, we saw many of the same bands that day! Legit almost entirely the same haha.

I'll be writing a review tomorrow. I went to all three days so it's gonna be mega long but hopefully it doesn't totally bore everyone.

Haha that’s crazy how that happened with the amount of bands there. I look forward to your review when you get round to it.

Talking of which I need to get some album reviews up in the next day, as I’m a week behind now.
