Stop Desire is my favorite of the four released so far. Boyfriend is close though.

 

this one is a serious winner holy shit

Not listening to anymore songs before the record comes out. Three was more than enough.

 

"Faint of Heart" is great. Still find "Boyfriend" so awkward melodically.

 

Love "Stop Desire", super good song.

 

I like this a fair amount but I think it's a definite step down from Heartthrob. "Boyfriend" is the only song I don't like though.

 

"Is the one you ended up with everything you wanted? I, I'm dying to know"

One of my favourite choruses on the record. "Stop Desire" is still the overall highlight though. That track is a stunner.

Loving these countdown teasers! I don't think it will bear Heartthrob for me, but it should be a fun summer album nonetheless.

 

This is really fun! I've never listened to a full project from them before but distinctly remember not being into anything I had previously heard (though I don't remember what any of it was). Knew I was at least interested in this the second I heard Boyfriend and the whole thing really lives up to that track.

 

Maybe our tastes differ a lot since I don't like "Boyfriend" at all but if you like this I definitely recommend checking out Heartthrob too.

 

Yeah, I definitely will. I remember at least one of the singles from it from a few years ago but can't recall what it sounds like at all now. Are they Top 40 pop radio outside of Canada? Because Boyfriend seems to be getting steady play by pop radio here.

 

I wouldn't know, haha. I don't really listen to the radio much. I think they did pretty well with "Closer", the lead single to Heartthrob.

 

First listen through and this is a massive "hmmmm". I really, really, really hope it's a grower.

 

Ugh, this is super good.

 

This is pretty enjoyable. 'U-Turn' is the only song I feel like is a weak link. 'Dying To Know' is pretty insane.

On first listen this is great. Pretty much everything I wanted from this album.

 

I like it, but I don't love it after about three listens. I want it to get to another level sonically and chorus wise that it never quite seems to get to. Some really big highlights, but some of it just kinda exists. I dunno, it's good, no doubt, but I'm still looking for something that gets me like that last HAIM album and I thought from the singles this may do it, but it doesn't.

 

I feel similarly.

 

You definitely hit the nail on the head. There are so many moments that don't quite fall flat but could very obviously be a lot...I don't know, bigger. Overall a fun summer listen, but I don't think I'll come back to it very much.
