I definitely don't think the album is coming next Friday but I don't see anywhere that post is specifically about the 1975. Jon Gilmore works with a lot of artists. That's interesting though if it is for them, because then we're at least getting another long album (which tbh I'd kind of expect at this point given their first 2).

  7. I've downgraded my thoughts on the other relevant album info coming out on Friday to a generic "M F C | F A L L" (or no acknowledgement at all)

The confusion has to be intentional.

  10. I still think they'll just drop the whole fucking thing on Friday, it'd be cool as hell.

What if they're strategically releasing pictures like this to convince us they're still working on it but these are old pics and it's done. Might hurt sales but just IMAGINE

  13. This actually makes sense. They've probably had an ear to the ground to the point where they'd be able to figure out that fans are looking at accounts for producers and photographers and whatnot and use that to their advantage.

If they are messing with us, it's a wonderful look into how their fan base reads into every detail about this band.

I MEAN WHAT IF WE'RE LIVING IN THE PAST AND THEY'RE IN THE FUTURE? DID I CROSS INTO A PARALLEL UNIVERSE WHERE TIME WORKS BACKWARDS?

The big problem with this theory though is it toys with big fans and rewards the casual fan. Doesn't seem very "them"

I’m intrigued to see how the video relates to the overall theme of the marketing so far. I can’t be the only one who thought there appeared to be something of a disconnect between the marketing and the aesthetic of the video. Obviously that’s judging from screens of a video we haven’t seen or heard the music for, but we have nothing else to ‘analyse’, and it was just something I was discussing with my girlfriend last night.

It’s going to be a single and video for sure. From recent posts this weekend it doesn’t look like the album is finished so there is no way it’s going to be the full thing.

Tonally it did not seem to fit. Also - what about all those renaissance-esque photos that came out when the first started recording? That fell off pretty hard.

The "brief inquiry" is that there's a disconnect between our online experiences and real-life experiences. Online makes it look like the album isn't done, the posters for the album in real life seem to suggest the opposite

  25. Unless they pull a Fall Out Boy and put the album up for pre-order before they actually finish it
