  8. I can't even recall what all has come out this year so far... Haha

But I do know that Beyoncé would be in my top 10, and The 1975 would not be.

Couldn't wait until tomorrow, streaming this for the first time right now. Spoken word opening gave me chills but I'll see if I dig it afterwards.

Oh that frightened rabbit album is great too. Such a good year for music. That, blackstar, Saosin, Radiohead, and Beyoncé/Summer Scouts/Explosions In The Sky probably make up the rest of my top 10

I also really like that new Polyenso record

I have a signed vinyl copy of the new Frightened Rabbit. It's no Midnight Organ Fight but it's still pretty good.

A lot of the big releases that most people loved just fell flat for me. Oh well, I've found so much that I love that I'm not really worried about it. Glad this album was not one of the releases where I didn't get the hype.

Also, don't know how I still haven't listened to that Frightened Rabbit record. Just completely forgot about it.

Frightened Rabbit was super disappointing for me, I'm not as into the new Radiohead album as most people seem to be either. I like Chairlift and Rihanna a lot. Saosin's way better than I expected. I still have a lot more I want to hear.

What was disappointing about it for you? I know you're a much bigger fan than I am.

I loved "Burn the Witch," but that Radiohead record did nothing for me other than that. Not surprising at all, though, given my feelings on Kid A. Still love about an EP's worth of that Rihanna record.

I agree, tbh. Aaron Dressner kind of ruined the record a bit, his style took over the rawness of what made Frabbit great. I have grown up with the band though. Seen Scott play his first ever gig as "Frightened Rabbit" in the Art School in Glasgow back when all he had was some demos and some songs off of Sing The Greys. So they will always have a special place in my heart, no matter what they release.

At the rate we're going, I will have records at the bottom of my top 50 that would have been top 10 any other year.

To be honest the majority of the records I've listened to and really liked this year are better than my top 5 last year barring Carrie and Lowell, TPAB, maybe Harmlessness

It just felt a lot weaker than what I'm used to from that band. It felt like Panic Stations to me where everything just feels like a step down, where there's only a few songs I love and they still wouldn't match up to the best from their other albums. The song writing just felt uninspired and kind of boring throughout.

I love "Burn the Witch" too and there's a few other songs on there I love but as a big Radiohead fan it doesn't really stack up to most of their work to me.

I listened to like four tracks the day it came out and then I think I got an advance or something that I wanted to listen to more. So yeah, that's not a good start. You've dampened my expectations even further!

"Burn the Witch" was the only song I could see myself ever wanting to listen to again, haha. I went to play through the record and heard that as the opener and though "fuck yeah, I'm finally going to 'get' a Radiohead album!" Then it was the oddball song of the bunch.

Would it dampen your expectations even more if I said those first four were all in my top 5 for that album? haha.

I was so hyped when "Burn the Witch" came out and I do like the rest of the album but I really wish more of it was like "Burn the Witch".
