Fuck, I fell asleep early and forgot to vote. I think I was leaning towards In Regards, so I hope @bachna84 would have chosen Survivor for the tiebreaker else I'm gonna feel horrible lol

 

The best song they’ve written not on DTGL is alright I guess.

 

If I had to choose between the two finalists I would have gone with In Regards To Myself.

The Only Survivor Was Miraculously Unharmed is a great song, but isn't even my favorite song on LITSOS. That title would go to Breathing In A New Mentality (cue @disambigujason telling me that I only like Breathing In A New Mentality more because it's the first song on the album :P)

As far as I know, there are no active brackets at the moment.

There have been some discussions about possibly doing a bracket for either Chevelle or Metallica, but there's nothing concrete at this time. I'm willing to run one again or assist in running one, but I have a few things over the next couple of months that will have me a bit busier than normal and I hate to take on anything else at the moment.

Maybe we could do one of those starting in August though if the interest is there (I'm open to other suggestions too!)

 

Wait a minute, people wanna do Chevelle or Metallica when bands like Deftones are sitting idly by!?

 

One thing that was pretty cool about these brackets opposed to some other brackets that I've participated in is that the participation was always pretty constant from album to album and from round to round. At least after we got past The Changing Of Times. A lot of brackets seems to trail off a bit as they progress - whether it's from bracket fatigue or (more likely) because the older albums are the fan favorites who really knows? Anyway, it's cool to see that people are as into the new material as they are!

 

I would love a Deftones bracket (I would also like to participate in a Deftones bracket!)

 

A Metallica bracket is pretty daunting with all of the non-album tracks. It would also be like a 3 month undertaking haha

 

Metallica's latter half of their discography is pretty daunting.

 

It's a departure as far as genres go, but I think a Panic! at the Disco bracket would be fun too.

I’m shocked at the overall winner but I am ecstatic too because it’s a great song that wasn’t a single or closer and is probably the deepest cut to win a bracket that I’ve seen. The true winner here is all of us.

Hell yeah, Im pumped and also very surprised a LITSOS song managed to win this whole thing!

I have no idea if its been a thing yet but I'd be all about participating in an Alexisonfire bracket. Would definitely be easier to keep up with than a a band like Metallica with a more expansive discog

Ah I guess technically not. Even stranger then that it’s a set list staple!

 

I'm happy with it too. LITSOS is still my favorite album overall from them. I remember thinking way back when that I would love it if they went with a heavier sound like in "In Regards To Myself." I feel that LITSOS is a full album continuation of that style and the beginning of them steering away from the cleaner, power chord-focused sound they found so much success with prior to. 10/10 would bracket again.

 

I'd be down for a Panic at the Disco bracket. I could also run it if you want.

Yeah it wasn’t my favourite track from LITSOS either but I do just about prefer it to In Regards To Myself (incidentally not my favourite track from DTGL, haha).

Nice to see a close battle and interesting to see a winner I never would have predicted right back when we started.
