Jack had the best character development on the show. He was a really interesting character from seasons 1-4 but once he started embracing Locke's way of thinking during season 5, he became something really special. My favourite Jack line is probably from the final when he's speaking to the man in black: "You're not John Locke, you disrespect his memory by wearing his face, but you're nothing like him. It turns out he was right about just about everything. I just wish I could have told him that when he was still alive."

This is everything.

I'm really torn on the idea of bringing back what would easily make my short list of favorite TV shows all-time... would I be curious enough to be excited & watch? absolutely! would I be terrified of who the actors were, or the writers, or the plotlines every second of every day? almost certainly haha so I'm not sure I could handle it & even less sure I want it... but damn if I don't wanna watch Lost now

 

I don't want them to reboot the show. I just can't see myself enjoying it when I love the original cast so much.

 

I really want to do a re-watch at some point. I watched the series all the way through, but just during the original time of broadcast, so I'm sure there's a ton of cool stuff to pick up on a second watch through.

 

I would hope they do a spin-off, rather than a re-boot. maybe they could just do a different alternate timeline, that could be cool, but you'd probably need the original cast for it to go well.

this thread is making me want to do a rewatch. maybe I can wrangle the gf into committing to it, too.

 

Man, I wish I was clever enough to come up with something like that. Both as a writer and a single guy.

That's kinda how I feel but I think I would be compelled to watch it.

 

I'm not sure how I would feel about a reboot or spinoff. If anything, it would be really cool for them to secure a printime slot on ABC and just re-air the entire series. One episode a week. I would love to experience that again.

 

I don't feel like many shows could pull that off but if one could, it'd be Lost.

 

Well I'm mad at myself. Started a re-watch of the show when I've already got plenty of current shows I'm trying to keep up with. But now it's cemented, looks like I'm spending another what roughly 80 hours or so with Lost. Couldn't help myself though.

 

Oh man I forgot about how Jack messes with Sawyer when he's having headaches. Asks him if he's ever slept with a prostitute, got an STD, and when his last outbreak was, all done in front of Kate. The whole time Jack knowing Sawyer just needed glasses. Got a nice laugh out of that scene.

 

Anyone going to the LOST Concerts in LA? Really wish I could make it out there for one.

 

I really need to rewatch LOST. I had no idea a reboot was even being talked about... but I don't really like it. The Leftovers is filling the LOST hole in my heart right now.

 

Rewatching this show for the first time since it ended, not sure if this is controversial or not but I'm about halfway through the first season and I can't stand Locke. Really remember him being a better character.

 

What is it that you don't like about him?

 

I'm halfway through season 3 in my rewatch right now.

Still have a ways to go, but my favorite characters are easily Jack and Locke, and for very different reasons.

It's nice to be able to watch the character development closely now, knowing what happens throughout the series. Back when it aired, I was more concerned about watching for the next mystery.

 

Jack and Kate seem so much younger on my rewatch. Claire too, I didn't realize she was like 22 or 23 in the show

 

Idk his whole forced mystery thing and refusal to compromise is rubbing me the wrong way this time. I mean, why keep the hatch a secret? I guess at this point I'm just not understanding his motivations, but that might just be me seeing his character through the lens of knowing where his character goes.

 

Everything he says turns out to be true. Even Jack, the polar opposite of a conspiracy theorist, says at the end he was right about everything.

 

I'm gonna put a prerequisite on my dating profiles stating that they must have never watched Lost so I can watch it "for the first time" vicariously through them

 

Signing up to be a total complete sucker for a Lost reboot. I don't give a fuck. I'm tuning in.
