the exact word i used when i was talking about it with my roommate. like, i get it, and really it's quite impressive it was done, but my god it was a chore to sit through such potent and prolonged dude angst

 

yeah, something about the tones and some of the arrangements gives me emperor x vibes in his quieter moments

 

yep, it's a surprisingly jazzy and varied record. i knew it would be great but having only heard "middle america" pre-release that record goes places i didn't expect from that track (which is incredible but also not exactly new territory for malkmus). this is definitely the new album hype talking but i already think it's one of his best solo/post-pavement works.

yeah, it was that alt country/americana thing he dabbles in sometimes, and most of this is not that. but i really liked middle america so i would've been fine with that too. i would agree from what i know. middle america feels like a gold soundz sequel btw

Like whether or not you think it’s BS you can still acknowledge that astrology involves giving certain characteristics to certain signs. Right. Even if you think they aren’t true lol so now I’m frustrated by some random on fb for no reason
