So how do people meet new people to hang out with? Feel like that's something I need since in the past it's been mostly the person I was dating at the time.

i get drunk and overly enthusiastic at concerts

list the ones that would be the most beneficial to list on the resume and highlight only the relevant accomplishments (or responsibilities if you have to) for the job for which you are applying.

 

i haven't met a new person that i hang out with outside of work since like 2012. not coincidentally when i graduated from college.

but i do consider many of my coworkers friends. i just don't hang out with them because they're all in college and that'd be weird.

doing this makes it look like i don't have a consistent job flow, which apparently has been a knock on me in the past in the job hunt.

i do think, sadly, i have to remove my freelance writing experience from my resume, or find a new way to reference it. every interview i've had (granted, not many) since i added that doesn't understand how independent contracting works.

you're probably a ravenclaw the way Luna is a ravenclaw.

Luna is a top 5 HP character for me, so this isn't an insult.

 

if you're out in public then putting yrself out there is p much yr only option

you could use bumble, they have a filter for just looking for friendships

 

what are you interested in? you'll find the people you want to hang out with at those places, obviously.
politics or getting involved locally? North Texas DSA

hiking and beer? local hike and beer groups. I'm not sure how it is in Denton/DFW but a few breweries here have their own running groups so they start and finish their runs at the brewery once or twice a week and mingle.

concerts? do what @Shrek and just compliment someone on their band tshirt or fake ignorance and ask the group around you if they know who the openers are and if they're any good?

It's easier said than done, obviously. But they're not just going to fall into your lap so you're gonna have to just be fucking awkward and first and approach or strike up conversations with strangers at the places you're at.

luna might be top 3 for me. she is consistently one of the best, smartest, kindest, and caring characters in the entire series even after all the suffering and teasing she endures.

 

a serious point of contention between me and my ex was whether or not colin creevey was an important character in the series. I said no. She said yes. We didn't talk for a few days.

 

exactly. she's wonderful.

Hermione, Luna, McGonagall, Lupin, the Twins (yeah, they're counting as one) probably make up my top five. McGonagall is always #1, after that it depends on my mood. Molly is sitting at that sixth spot.

 

he was very annoying, but i got sad when he died. same with dobby. it was a weird time.

 

she said he represents innocence and wonder and provided a counter to harry's often cynical narrative view in the books and that his death during the battle of hogwarts was one of the most profound deaths because all of those things he represented died with him in that world. And I said that's fine and I probably agree, but that doesn't make him important.

but yeah, dobby's death is an automatic cry every time for me.
