In 2016 a new brewery opened up in town and my friend Trevor went with one of his old teachers named Mr. Moore and a few other people to the opening. I showed up later and Trevor was absolutely drunk out of his mind.

One of our mutual coworkers kind of just tagged along and no one wanted her there. She then just starts hitting on Trevor and he looks straight over her head at Mr. Moore and myself with eyes that just said "please help me." Mr. Moore just blurts out 'YOU THINK ZEPPELIN'S RAMBLE ON IS ABOUT HOBBITS?!' and the girl is like what and Trevor just sprinted to the door and went and sat in the car.

A week later Trevor and I were bartending in this beer bottle shop that had a 50-tap bar in it, too. This old man named Silver Fox Steve who is sleazy as fuck -- would take off his wedding ring and then hit on women there -- started chatting with these college-aged women who were clearly uncomfortable. So I told Trevor we need to do something. So I got the attention of one of the women and told her we're going to create a distraction and when it happens, they are to walk away quickly.

Trevor then just stops Steve mid sentence and asks if Ramble On is about hobbits and steve without missing a beat just said "I don't give a fuck" and I laughed so hard my nose started bleeding. So on the way to the bathroom three people asked me to help them find beers so I had to hide a nose bleed while showing said customers around for the beer they wanted and that's my Led Zeppelin story.

Listening to the latest Radiolab episode called The Fountain of Youth and, much like most of Radiolab's output, it's pretty great. This episode of about life expectancy and one of the more interesting points brought up is that apparently loneliness seems to shave off about 5 years of life expectancy.

Saw a video last night of this dude on an escalator and he was holding this big metal beam and it got caught on the ceiling and then caught on the escalator and this caused the stairs to open up and dude got chewed up like it was a meat grinder. That shit blows my mind. Like, being alive and then dead within 5 seconds cause you fell into an escalator.

i have been scouring the internet for job leads for three months. i don't need a new job, i'm safe here, but i want a lot more. the money i'm making now is fine for life as it is, but not enough to move forward with a family and a home and even if i don't do all that for a while i want the option. i applied for four jobs that felt really promising with one company, and to my surprise the one they reached out to me about is the one i never thought i'd have a chance in hell at landing. it would be over $15k more a year. i would die. trying not to get my hopes up, but a phone interview will be happening later this week.

 

can't watch that stuff anymore I scarred myself enough in high school. I think the worst one I saw was some guy basically being flayed alive - one of those cartel videos.
