There's a lot of variation in types of veggie burgers. Most of them if you're expecting it to taste like meat you're gonna be disappointed.

A black bean is pretty consistently good but it doesn't have a whole lot in common with burgers in general. Same with mushroom burgers obviously and those aren't as consistent.

Soy and seitan based patties can vary in quality. Then there's potato based stuff.

The Impossible Burger is the best bet if you want something that tastes like meat

 

Thankfully that’s not been the case with me.

I like falafel, though, and sometimes they’re pretty similar, so I don’t know why I dislike them so much. Probably because ground beef grilled is incredible.

My best friend’s rehearsal dinner was at a Lebanese restaurant and me and one of the other groomsmen ate our body weight in falafel appetizers because we got wine drunk real fast

I’m super late to this conversation but this is what I do as well. Doesn’t always work out well though. One time I had pretty last minute gig and had a random guitarist that I didn’t know that well join me for it. Everything worked out super well when we rehearsed but then at the actual show he would improvise all these garbage leads during parts where he wasn’t supposed to play anything

That's the worst hahaha, I hate when people do that, it happens to my friends a lot

I'm pretty much just bringing in people to record, probably won't play shows, I don't have a strong desire to (yet)
