I haven't heard every Jimmy Eat World record but I have a hard time believing Clarity belongs anywhere near the bottom

 

Futures > Clarity > Bleed American > Chase This Light

This may be unpopular but I can’t get into much after CTS, some good songs scattered across but as a whole I feel there is a drop off. Still one of my all time favs.

Van Halen had excellent harmonies on their first album.

Fleet Foxes comes to mind when I think of harmonies. Emery is great though and Toby and Devon were basically made for each other

emery does have good harmonies but they shine most when they weave distinct vocal lines

 

Maybe I'm overestimating how influential Thursday was (and/or how original a writer Rickly was), but reading their lyrics I feel like you can really easily trace so many shitty songs and so much shitty poetry directly back to them.
