Disagree. June 1st, 2015 was hyped up for so long and only signified the band deleting their social media and coming back with the pink color. A single is not out of the equation IMO.

 

For a band of their size, do you think it’s more boneheaded to release an album (theoretically) 20 days from the first drop of new music? Granted they release something today?

 

I think they could drop the whole album after this month-long tease campaign without a single and be fine.

 

last time on june 1st they just like changed their aesthetic to pink remember? june 1 seems soon for it to be the record. i think it would be good and cool though

 

That’s what I want, but I disagree that it would be fine. I feel like they’d have wanted more press at this point if that was the case. At least they’re getting us to anxiously talk about it.

 

Is June 1 too soon for us to expect the record, though? I don't think so. But I guess that's just what happens when you call a shot almost a year in advance and everyone takes you at your word.

 

At this point, definitely. If they had released the single last week, I think it woulda been right on track. Now, I don't see a band that has sights on charting big and all that having it ready by then and hitting those goals.

As it gets closer to the date, my speculation remains the same in that June 1st will be more than a single but not quite the actual album. Still thinking we might get a song (or multiple songs) that coincide with some type of visual experience, like a short film or something. And I doubt we get anything until then

 

Short film (titled ABIIOR) definitely is possible. Would be something new for them, which would be totally fine. They keep posting the same pictures of George wearing a VR in a field. Could easily be stills from a short film. Maybe an album announcement to accompany it. Hopefully it ain't coming out next year or something. Long rollouts are old.

 

For sure. Like I definitely think June 1st we’ll have music, but knowing this band it seems silly to expect a single is all we’re getting after such lengthened hype — some type of video (not a “music video”, so to speak) seems pretty fitting for these guys and would be a little outside of the box. I’m thinking kinda like what All American Rejects did for those last couple of songs they released... except hopefully the album follows shortly after. Maybe like a month.

 

Lets just say that it is a short film for a second. It wouldn't be out of the box for them to put 2 new songs in it- kind of making it an "EP" of sorts. A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships kind of sounds like it could be more than just a song. I don't know. I just want something at this point.

 

I mean, Jamie did say that the EP wasn’t a thing anymore because it ‘became something bigger.’ That’s absolutely plausible.
