The Lions surely knew of the allegation right? The NFL is so thorough prodding into the lives of draft prospects I would be surprised if they're not just as thorough, if not more, when hiring a HC. Wondered the same thing about Joseph.

But then again, maybe not, NFL coaches (HC's in particular) are predominately white and players are predominately black

 

the reasoning i've seen for them not knowing about the allegation is because they only did a criminal charge search and since it was dropped it doesn't show up, or something.

the other one i've seen is that they just didn't do their due dilligence because they wanted their guy

 

He dodged everything and then talked about how well he was raised and how he has a family. Like, shit dude. Explain what happened. And then throw support behind other victims. That conference just came off as really gross to me

 

I would be a little surprised if coaching candidates got as much scrutiny as draft prospects, but I could be wrong.

Still pissed the Jags went for Dede Westbrook. It sucks that I have to hope his on field production is bad enough that we cut him.

 

Yeah the Westbrook pick was fucking awful but I'm confident Chark/Cole/Lee can make him borderline useless. That's pretty much the line for me. If you're drafting someone like that it better be one dude and it better be a minor role player. Coach? Fuck that. Franchise piece? Nope.
