I've never been a fan of reviews. Especially before an album comes out to the general public. I've seen opinions change way too drastically to take someones time spent with an album over a week seriously.

 

Well said. Some of my favorite albums of all time were records that took an extended period to grow on me, or ones that I was lukewarm on at first but eventually clicked with me. Reviews have their place and I understand their purpose, but they aren't something I personally ever pay much attention to.

 

I've always appreciated reviews, especially here on Chorus (and AP). A lot of time and effort is put into some reviews and I would never take that away from the reviewer. My issue is the timeframe. I just think a week with album is too short. It took me 3 years to come around to Daisy.

 

Pre-conceived notions and things like "the part of this song at 1:28 sounded so dull" have ruined songs for me in the past. Because then I find myself searching and waiting for that point of the song.

Just gonna listen to this and block out anything else.

 

Yeah and I've found tons of reviews describe a song inaccurately so when I get to that specific song and I don't hear the vibe they said it had it just throws me off.

You should do a supporter feature only where you review albums you hate and absolutely demolish them haha

Really? I've always felt that was a pretty terrible performance. Tom is just poor all around, and Mark's delivery in the chorus is flat as hell. Can't get through it.

 

idk, i just feel like they just wanted to play fast and loud, with no clicktrack whatsoever. it doesn't seem forced in anyway, i think they were having fun and that gets to me somehow.

 

I'll give you that, it does seem like an honest performance, for lack of a better word.
