Oh daaaaang, I really liked Half Heart too! Definitely would've fit right in on Integrity Blues. I liked the videos for both songs too. It's such a great day when new Jimmy Eat World music comes out. :)

I saw someone mention they got an email about this? I usually get their emails but for some reason this one missed me.

I'm so excited to see them again in a couple weeks. It'll be my second time, and we're kind of taking a weekend vacation to Austin and it'll just be really nice. Jimmy Eat World has been there through every stage of my life. I don't have anything else to compare them too. They are my all-time favorite band, nothing else comes close.

these are fine but it's definitely not the sound from these guys i enjoy the most. feel like they have a certain sound that sets them apart from everyone else when they steer into it but these songs, and their last few albums for me, are pretty lackluster. at least compared to the bar i have set for them, which might admittedly be unreasonable

Integrity Blues is one of the best things they ever did so

I reallllly like the production in these two songs. I enjoy IB's production a lot too, but these two songs are what I prefer most from JEW production-wise.

  10. Aren't the produced by the same person?

Yeah but the production style on these is definitely less refined and polished it's pretty raw. I actually don't like how the guitar sounds on love never. It's quite harsh

No idea, TBH. But I've noticed differences. Especially with the mixing of guitar tones.

  13. Ken Andrews usually does a really clean mix, I'm guessing he didn't mix either of these, but I don't know for sure. (He mixed Integrity Blues; which I absolutely love how it sounds.)

Yeah, man. IDK about you, but I consider that work timeless, which is what I love about IB. That album is going to age well. Hard to come by.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

Someone earlier in the thread said Jim mixed these himself, not sure what the source on that was though. I love the raw sound though, it's like Damage done better

Hey now. Look at you. Way cool.

Zach said on twitter that Jim mixed these himself (someone here brought this to my attention a few posts back).

It's like Damage done digitally. It sounds this way because it was recorded on a tape or something like that.

This Millvale show has been sold out for months, I can't even find scalped tickets. So disappointing

It would be me and my girlfriend, so I'd probably have to pass on just one ticket. Thanks a lot, though!
Looking into other options now, really don't wanna miss this!

i’ve been meaning to tell you

Love Never is great and half heart is growing on me. I wouldn’t be mad if there was an album or full EP in this vein.

Wish they were coming to Denver on this tour!
