I watched the first half or so. My dvr cut the rest out though for some reason. I thought it was good but I don't know if I was in an off mood or what because I didn't think was his best in my opinion. The jokes were good but his performance seemed forced like he wasn't able to get into a rhythm or something.

It was comparable to when I've seen good comics perform for a really apathetic crowd so maybe that was it.

That's too bad. I've enjoyed him in the past, so I'll probably still give it a shot, but that's a real bummer when the crowd sucks at the taping of your special.

I agree I was excited for his special and I enjoyed it but it seemed a little off to me.

I was at this taping, the crowd was really solid. I just don't think the material was particularly good imo

Oh really? That's kinda a bummer then.

I saw Tosh a long time ago and it was a pretty empty show so it was very loose. He ended up telling the story about his how his closer bit about what he would do for his mtv cribs episode totally bombed during his Comedy Central Presents taping. So every laugh you hear during that joke is edited in from previous jokes in the special.

Ever since then I've assumed if someone's special seemed less than perfect it was because of the audience but CC touched it up haha

    "I'll chew on a dog!"

"I was eating curds and Cheerios"
    "Not a fan of whey?"
"Fuck that shit. I can't take that. It sounds like 'gay' and I don't play that gay shit."
"Okay okay.... E.T. no homo. We get it."
"I have many friends in the theater, this is fine."

This destroyed me in CBB. Their improv skills never fail to blow me away.

Usually Kansas is a bummer when it comes to stand ups but next weekend is packed with Iliza Shlesinger, Tony Hinchcliffe, and Barry Crimmins all performing here. That's exciting.

Edit: And Ben Hoffman's country project Wheeler Walker Jr. is here next week too!

  14. At one point at the Detroit show Scott threw in an ET no homo and without missing a beat PFT goes "None taken!" and I just died. He did the "none taken" thing to a different "no ________" comment on today's ep too. Such a damn good bit. He's a silly genius. They're all silly geniuses.

They're in Kansas City and Lawrence

Wichita is starting to get a lot of good acts but it's a 3 and a half hour drive from me still so I usually have a hard time getting to shows there unfortunately

This is probably a weird question, but I haven't been able to figure it out. I've been listening through TESD a lot recently (really digging it), does Ming actually work at the Stash? I know he's on Comic Book Men, but there seems to be a weird disconnect.

I don't listen to TESD but according to his wikipedia page, of all of his professions, comic book store clerk is not one of them.
