I'm not sure if it was announced, but I have some sources close to the situation and they told me that on Monday.

Sweet that should be a fun time!

Yes, totally! Another important nugget is that all of those acts are on the same stage and the same day.

Alright, so is it too early, or too late to start asking for a Mr. Bungle reunion?

You know, that's one reunion I never see brought up often even among big Mike Patton fans. That would be a cool one that would catch tons of people by surprise. I don't know if/when it will happen, though. Patton always has so many projects going on that I don't see him wanting to revisit the past for too long. That's why the FNM reunion pretty much dissolved already.

Yeah I completely agree. Is probably never brought up just because most of fans know it’s probably never gonna happen. Although I hope another FNM tour happens someday

I will be there in a heartbeat if this turns out to be true.

I will try to confirm it again, but that's what I was told by a good source, so I have no reason not to believe it.

Text I got back about the wicker park fest lineup, was that "it is definitely happening" but don't know when the official announcement will be made.

Looks like George Clinton and Black Star are both out as they're playing Taste of Chicago aaaand both would have been awesome to see at Riot Fest.

I think George said he's done touring in May of next year, but I could totally see Black Star playing one year.

Yeah, this is pretty much his "farewell" tour. I always felt like he'd be a perfect fit for the festival and it never happened... Was hoping they'd get him for this last run!

I'm not really adding anything new, but I'm just going to leave this list here and update it if I think of more, mostly just to see how much I can guess.

    Locks:
    GWAR
    Andrew WK

    Taking Back Sunday (TBD)
    Jesus Lizard
    Killing Joke
    The Exploited

    The Longshot
Liz Phair (possibly for a 25-year Exile In Guyville performance)

    Highly Possible:
    Beck

    Violent Femmes
    A Perfect Circle
    Rancid
    Father John Misty
    Yo La Tengo

    Possible, with some evidence:
    Scars On Broadway
    The Used
    Bleachers
    Guided By Voices

Seems possible, but no real evidence:
    Sum 41

    Goldfinger
    blink-182
    Jenny Lewis
    Flatbush Zombies
    NERD
    Run the Jewels
    The Maine
Yeah Yeah Yeahs (May tour date, but ATDI had one too last year)
    Turnstile
    Tiny Moving Parts
The Front Bottoms (June tour date though, so idk)
    SWMRS

    Chris Farren
    Jeff Rosenstock
    Ghost
    Hobo Johnson
    Propagandhi
    Superchunk
    Red Fang
    Against Me!

Unrealistic wish list (no reason to believe any of this):
The Academy Is... (11 year Santi performance? Why not)
    Operation Ivy reunion
    Fugazi reunion
    My Chem reunion
    Justin Pierre new project debut
    The Format reunion

I would bawl if Liz Phair played - she's doing an intimate club show in June, but it sold out immediately, so it's possible.

That's what I'm thinking. Seems like a small show for her and with how much Riot loves anniversaries, seems like a good fit. Maybe just wishful thinking but I kind of think it will happen.

I was wondering when a post like that would pop-up again here! Haha. I'm too burnt out on speculation at this point, but... All of that seems pretty legit.

I'd add Rancid to the list as "Highly possible," just because Lars had previously tweeted that they'd be in Chicago come September.

If they wind up booking bands like A Perfect Circle, Ghost, etc. too I'd put money on Alice in Chains being in the mix as well. They have a May tour date, but it's sold out. No real evidence to back it up, except that they'd be a stylistic fit, have never played before, and are doing a bunch of festivals this summer.

    To add to that list:

Jesus Lizard is probably a lock. They're playing in Detroit on 9/14 with no other dates booked around it.

Killing Joke is a lock. Exclusive Midwest performance on 9/14 in Chicago that hasn't been announced yet.

Skating Polly is supposedly a lock as well if this article can be considered a valid source: Soundcheck: Tell All Your Friends

The Exploited is likely a lock - playing Detroit on 9/14 and STL on 9/16.

Added those to the list. I meant to include Rancid. Ghost and Alice in Chains seems likely. I could see one day being heavy with bands like that.

With how many festivals AIC has going on this year, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if they found themselves on the Riot Fest lineup this year. I could imagine them being a day 1 or day 2 headliner even

I feel silly even asking this question, but... Does the Taking Back Sunday date in July conflict with Riot Fest? My first thought when I looked at the routing for that tour initially was "Are they not playing this year?"

I feel like the festival might make an exception for them, but... They'll be in Chicago in July.

I don't think they'd be a headliner at Riot Fest. Second or third to last band of the night, depending on who else is playing. It's not a "special event" or anything like that, and they still tour regularly so... I don't think they're big enough to close out a night.

I don't know, I mean last year TBS didn't actually play the fest, but they did an aftershow. They've been involved every year since 2013, so I feel like they have no reason to stop now. I imagine they'll be involved. Maybe they'll do a surprise set or something. They've done it before on a year they played.

They were there last year. They closed out a stage the same time that Queens of the Stone Age were playing.
