If I remember correctly - even Chris Hemsworth was bored with the role until Ragnarok happened. He's the best now.

 

Guardians shoulda copied themselves more in that second movie if we’re being honest.

But really all they needed to do was gtfo out of a great directors way. Wish they coulda done that with Ant-Man.

 

Smart man. Those first two movies are trash pandas.

 

Completely agree. I had to force myself through that second one.

 

Guardians 2 is better than 1 tho. Talk about character arcs.

 

Nah. It’s pretty good. But degree of difficulty is way higher in the first. No way that movie should have worked.

Hell no. Guardians 2 is a joke compared to the first one.

 

That Cat Stevens song at the end of 2 really hit me in the feels.

 

Speaking of James Gunn, I asked him if he was gonna put any STL references in Guardians 3 in a FB Live chat he usually does and he said he was still writing it and needed to finish it. Here’s hoping *crosses fingers*

I really hope Gamora isn't permanently dead, GOTG3 wouldn't be the same without her and I don't feel like her character received enough closure

 

She's coming back, just like almost all of the characters in that died in that movie. The only deaths besides Loki and Heimdall that we really have to worry about are going to be in the next movie.

 

GOTG2 is my favorite comic book film. Such an absolutely fantastic character-driven look at trauma and family, brought to life with such beautiful visuals and charmingly lowbrow humor. I don't know what it'd take to dethrone that film, though I said that about the first one, too.

(Actually, I do know what it'd take: a truly great live action Spider-Man film. Someday...)

Anyways, Gamora and Nebula's relationship was a highlight of GOTG2, so leaning into Thanos' abusive affections for Gamora in this movie helped me stay emotionally invested in this plot- and spectacle-driven monster. I really hope Nebula is given a central role in Avengers 4 to continue that story.

 

Did I miss why Banner can’t Hulk out anymore? Is it because Thanos just kicked his ass as Hulk and the green guy is too scared to come back out and play?

We need Natasha to push him off a cliff again.

 

I normally like Mark Ruffalo but every time he talked in this movie it was almost cringe worthy. Like it was really bad.

After "What We Do In The Shadows" I have vowed to watch every Taika movie from here on out.

 

My key reason for Guardians 2 > 1 is that Ego is a wayyyyy more interesting villain than Ronin. It also has Mantis who is delightful.

I just recently did a Star Wars marathon with my kids/wife. Yes, I made them sit through episodes 1-3. We had a blast doing it. Did the same thing a while back with Marvel movies as well. One of my favorite parts of having kids is showing them the things that I loved as a kid. The best part, my kids also show me the things that they have found on their own (movies, music, etc.) and if it wasn't for them I would not have an undying love for the K-Pop group BTS. Having kids has it's moments where it's frustrating, but I would be lying if I said I didn't love every second of it (frustrating moments and all).

 

A box set with Phase 1-3 after Avengers 4 would be a must buy for me even though I have all the blu rays

 

definitely in the GOTG 2>1 camp but theyre both maybe my two favorite MCU projects. neither of them should have worked as well as they did.
