Clearly, but the amount of idiots who are like "yo pick me up" and when I don't either yell or shove me is extremely high, so I thought people were more ok with it.

I’m tall so this happens to me all the time. I didn’t come to a show to have people climb on me and knee me in the head. Crowdsurfing and stagediving are two of the most selfish things you can do at a show.

People who crowdsurf probably also join fraternities

Crowdsurfing is the same as mosh pits: not my thing so I stay away from them, so it's not a problem.

    I was right. Prestigious

anytime I see someone crowdsurfing I can’t enjoy the show anymore because all of my energy is devoted to avoiding said crowdsurfer

It's a problem if you're just chilling out at the front and can't see a dude being thrown on top of you.

I have a general disdain for crowdsurfers, but I don't mind stagediving as much in certain contexts - hardcore, grindcore, powerviolence type shows. If it starts to go over the line and become more violent (ala crowdkilling), that's where I'm generally not a fan of it. There's a reason I'm generally towards the back or side at most shows I go to though...I'm too old to deal with that stuff most of the time.

With that being said, if you mosh at a black metal show, I will send daggers your way however.

The front is usually where the mosh pit is, so best to avoid it if you have a problem with that kind of stuff.

It's not fair really, but that's just what happens at concerts.

Yeah, which is why it's dumb stuff. I can stand at the barrier and avoid the mosh pit though, I can't avoid having people thrown on top of me.

Yeah I'm not super tall so I have to get closer to see the stage, hard to avoid the rowdy people. I guess it wasn't an unpopular opinion here but it is at shows so it half counts

The last dude who said that to me actually got picked up by someone else, only to come back to me looking for his "$200 vape" that he dropped when crowdsurfing. Karma is absolutely real.

I do not like crowdkilling and do not respect anyone who defends it

fuck out of here with that shit. having impulse violent urges isn't a kind of toxicity that needs to be defended, or pushed onto random people. take a martial arts class or something. I really respect bands that stop the show when people who arent even there to mosh might get hurt.

The 1975 stopped Heart Out one time because there was too much shoving. After that, everyone was chill and it was amazing

Crowdsurfing is not music, more human behaviour, therefore this whole discussion has not been about musical opinions

Will this opinion be popular, stay tuned

    Would everyone rather:

-Pay to see a Puddle of Mudd show where the singer rage quits after like 5 songs

-See one of your favorite bands where the singer adopted that move where it's "cool" so spit into the audience and you got hit with spit every song, on-top of crowd surfers landing on you the entire time.

    a literal succubitch

Backing this. In some contexts, people getting rowdy at shows that are pretty much centered around rowdiness are unavoidable so while I might not enjoy dodging crowdsurfers and stage divers, I kind of know what I'm getting myself into if I go to a more Wild 'n Wacky show like that.

However, yeah, behaving in a way you really shouldn't for the genre and demographic of the show you're seeing is a one way ticket to go-fuck-yourself-ville from my end.
