Eh, for some reason I'm not too interested in new Tomb Raider. Maybe gameplay will change that...

It's been a few days since I played GoW and I am really starting to feel it. Just kind of hear "Boy!" in my head every once in a while.

 

Well I quickly told her over text "I think I'm doing this" to which he never responded hahaha. I also had $200 in PayPal credit that was my Xbox One X fund, sold a Kinect adapter. Paid $160 for it in the end. But we'll see what happens when it arrives and she realizes what I have done...

 

Just bought God of War yesterday. Don't know when I'll start it but wanted to get some feedback on difficulty settings before I do. Im looking for a decent challenge but Im not sure if the 'Give me God of War' difficulty is too much or not. Anybody here playing on either that or the next lowest?

 

I’m playing on “Give Me a Balanced Experience” and it’s plenty hard. Pretty difficult game. I’ve heard the harder difficulty is really hard.

 

My first playthrough was on balanced and it was fairly easy. Rarely died. The next harder one is harder at first, but reminds me of Witcher 3, once you get a hang of enemy types and patience, it’s just fine. I’d start with that one, then do give me God of War after

Played GoW for a few hours today and got zero story done. Just explored the lake and found the iron cove then found a dragon behind a huge door.

 

I unlocked the ability in GoW where if you land a precision ranged attack, and hit triangle after it flashes it will do more damage. I swear I’ve hit the head, and haven’t seen it flash. Granted a lot of the enemies I’ve faced since upgrading have been lower level, and only take one or two hits to kill.

 

No spoilers story wise or anything, but when do you unlock the ice bridge ability in GOW? I've seen in guides that there's puzzles in the area I'm in which you need it for.

 

Like probably 30 min after where you are. Depending if you’re exploring those beaches

 

Yeah, I've done all the beaches and that, gone across the bridge and basically ready to move to the next area through the huge doors. So should be soon then.

Side note, GoW is deceptively big. Seems like a straightforward linear story, but some parts are huge and have loads to do.

 

What do you mean by loads to do?

I'm curious because previous games didn't have that at all so I'm trying to figure out how it's different than the others

 

There's basically entire areas to explore with side quests and gear and optional bosses. It's a lot bigger than the previous GOW games.

 

That sounds interesting.

I definitely plan to give this a shot eventually. It'll be awhile before I get around to it but I'm kinda excited to check it out.

Only ever played the original 3 and that was years ago

 

Yeah I’m kinda overwhelmed lol. New areas keep forming every time the water in the lake goes down. Plus there’s areas you can’t access until you gain new powers/arrows.

 

Man, God of War has an update every single day

 

Mine update while I’m sleeping so when I turn it on to play I don’t have to wait to play

 

I just skip updates.

@lightning Is grinding the open-world portion of FFXIII worth it or can I skip it and just finish the story? At this point newer games keep piling up, I kind of just want to get to XIII-2 and Lightning Returns.

I also need to buy/play IX/X/X-2 ughhhh
