It’s cause of the shooting at Aurora. That changed how movies are premiered. They still want to offer an early showing, but midnight releases are a no go

Haha, didn’t mean to. I don’t think that’s entirely the reason, but I do know from working in the business that we stopped doing midnight shows after Aurora.

But at this current place I’m working at, they have shows from 7pm all the way to 2am so fuck if I know.

Also, Thursday box office sales count as opening weekend so they get that one extra day to buff that box office report

 

I agree. I just know that that’s something that a lot of theaters changed. But again, I’m sort of generalizing as the one I work at currently still has midnight shows

 

I work at a Cinemark now and introduced a policy where no bags are allowed if they are over a certain size. Obviously a shooter can bring a pistol into a small bag if they want, but they are trying to take some preventative measures as they are the company that the Aurora shooting happened at.
