I've talked to people at recruiting agencies and never had luck there. Haven't tried temps but probably similar. Nothing pays enough

I do this. Then again, my work has me eating/being in a bar having a beer alone a lot so I've gotten used to it. I enjoy it now.

Anybody ever had Biggby Coffee?

 

Yes. It started in the city i currently live. It used to be called Beaners but when they wanted to start franchising people were like "choose a different name that one's pretty offensive."

We went for the first time today and it wasn't half bad

 

I've only had three cups of coffee in my whole life, so I'm the wrong person to ask. They're an institution up here. What's crazy is that I live in Lansing and Lansing is about 10 years behind the rest of the state for food/beverage/art/music/culture/etc, but we have about 6 different local coffee spots plus Biggby. It's a weird dichotomy. I guess none of that is relevant information for what you asked. I'll say that basically everyone I know chooses to buy local over going to Biggby and my friend who was a barista for years said he thinks Biggby is gross (in the same way Starbucks coffee is gross to him), but, I don't know anything about coffee.

 

This is way more thorough than I was expecting to be honest and I appreciate it.

I imagine any coffee produced for Mass audiences and whatnot is gonna be diluted to an extent so I can understand and imagine.

I like coffee and espresso but don't know anything about it other than I like it and I drink it every morning

 

I like my coffee like how I like my metal, black and bitter.

 

I definitely like bitter coffee but have to have it at least a bit sweetened

 

I personally don’t like any sweetener in my coffee, I find that it makes it taste worse when it cools off.

 

That's why you chug it so it doesn't cool off

 

But that makes me go pee pee faster

 

I like my coffee like I like my Subway. In the trash.

 

If I were a coffee drinker, I'd rather go to Biggby than Starbucks, based solely on Biggby being smaller and a Michigan corporation. Not that it makes it good and I'm sure there are business practices they have that are awful, but that's my gut reaction.

what kind of voice do you all imagine when you read everyone else's posts

 

Mostly I read everyone in my own voice, except for @Kingjohn_654. I always heard his posts in like this really sad pathetic wimpy voice. We’ve spoken on the phone and I still read his posts that way.

 

I’ve grown to prefer coffee over energy drinks and what not, it’s vastly cheaper and it doesn’t make me feel like I’m shaving years off my life drinking an overdose of B vitamins.
