Bangin Banjo, LauderAle, Copperpoint, Devour, Barrel of Monks. Riverside Market isn't a brewery but is a really cool spot to enjoy a beer.

Brewed with some friends again today. Split a 15 gallon batch into 3 different beers. 50/50 grain bill of German pilsner and German wheat. Split into a Berliner, a gose and a weird take on a hefeweizen that we're hopping with Mosaic. Not doing anything to the Berliner, the gose is going to get fruited with pineapple and the hefe will probably be dry-hopped with more Mosaic.

I went to St Petersburg, FL on Friday for the Loosetalk show (Christian & Deon from Anberlin's new project). They tapped all their beer releases from this week at 5pm, and I wandered in at 4:30pm to get a berliner. Ended up with the line forming around where I was standing, so I was maybe 10-15 people back, so I went ahead and grabbed a pour of SCOOOP (their ice cream sunday barrel aged stout they did with 3 Sons). Holy shit it was good.

Last night I had a Jolly Pumpkin- La Roja

Not for everyone but I enjoyed it. Super fermented and sour. Also aged in Oak barrels.

  15. Just heard from Chris at Peabody's that the shipments of Blendy#3 went out today. @Oddpac87 @bigmike @BlueEyesBrewing if I remember correctly the 3 of you ordered some, so keep an eye out later this week!

The release ended up going incredibly well on Saturday. I got there at about 7:15am and got wristband #23. Walked around Boone a bit and found some coffee and breakfast, got back to the shop at about 9:30am and chatted in the parking lot with some guys I've met at other releases. At 9:50am they had everyone line-up, about 80 of us total I think, and I had my bottles in-hand by about 10 after. They let anyone there go through line an additional time if they wanted, and I actually ended up walking away with 8 bottles myself. I think Foothills having the BASC release the same day really helped keep the crowds down.

Going back up there in 2 weeks for Peabody's annual cellar sale. This is where Chris brings out hundreds of tucked-away bottles he's collected over the past years and puts them back on the shelf for one day. This will be my first time going but I've heard you can get some pretty rare stuff there -- vintages of Bootsy, Snozzberry, WW's Angel series, BASC, and many many more. I'm probably going to royally piss off my gf with how much I spend there...

Picked up a 6-pack of Hopsoulution today, and can't wait to try one tonight.

Also picked up 2 beers from Drai Laag out of Pittsburgh, which I'd never heard of but they looked interesting. The second one seems a little gimmicky, but whatever:

    R2 Koelschip Ale
Using spontaneous, open fermentation to collect wild yeast cultures native to Pennsylvania, R2 Koelschip is crafted with indigenous strains to create a tart, refreshing Belgian style Farmhouse ale in dedication to our first coolship (koelschip), nicknamed R2.

    Relic
Long story short – we came into possession of a French Monastic cabinet dated from the 17th century and, naturally, set to work extracting a yeast strain from the layers of wax used to preserve it. Hops were added sparingly, allowing the uniquely earthy, musty and citrusy flavors of this ancient strain to shine.

Yeah, saw I got charged so figured that went out. Excited to try it.

And that cellar sale sounds awesome. Got to try Snozzberry at Funk Asheville last year an absolutely loved it. Looking forward to that fest again this year so much.

  19. I can't believe its been 2 days and I still haven't popped one yet. Most likely opening one when I get home this evening.

And I hate that I missed Funk Asheville last year but I will be there as well this year.

Love Jolly Pumpkin. They're fantastic and honestly I tend to forget about them when discussing fantastic breweries in Michigan. It's a brewery I need to get a tour of, to see all their barrels.
Good to know, thank you! I actually hadn't even checked my credit card balance yet, so I'm excited. Kind of forgot about the order to be honest, haha.
Hope I didn't talk up the Hopsolution to much. A beer reviewer I watch said it was perhaps Bell's worst IPA. I thought it was fantastic, and felt like one of the most 'modern' IPA's they've made.

I actually don't think they bottle/can besides very limited releases at their brewery. and the might be super recently anyway. if they do, I think it's only hophands and saisonhands.

unrelated, but shape of hopes to come is coming back. can't wait. they're only doing two big shipments though. one in July and one in October. last year they did a lot of smaller shipments, so they're changing it up.

Tired Hands does can releases like everything Thursday. They can a bunch of different stuff and it normally sells out rather quickly. They normally have a couple bottles on hand as well. Once of which is their house saison bottle fermented called Ourison and it's really good. Would definitely recommend.
