I'm not even a fan of Green Day and blink is the band that got me into music but yeah Green Day destroys blink with live performances.

 

Yeah when I saw them both together at the Pop Disaster Tour, GD went on before Blink and totally killed. It made Blink look so weak haha.

Yeah I'm with you. I really like Green Day but only American Idiot in full. Most of Dookie but only greatest hits after those.
Whilst blink I like every song post Dude Ranch besides Love Is Dangerous. But the American Idiot stadium tour with JEW and a rookie MCR was brilliant

Green Day has five or six albums better than Blink's best album. True, Green Day has the trilogy, but I mean....Blink has Neighborhoods and DED. Their bad points are fairly comparable

 

I always thought more people liked blink haha. At least at my school.

 

I guess in our generation maybe because Blink had their big rise just a few years after Green Day. Still, so many people I went to school with were all over Green Day and I only knew a handful of Blink fans.

 

Yeah it's probably a generational thing. I'm sure people who grew up with Dookie are bigger Green Day fans and then starting with the TRL era with ATST and beyond the tide turned in Blink's favor

Yeah, when American Idiot came out it was all over for me. I'm a fanatic for life.

 

I knew green day before blink. They just never REALLY clicked with me, let alone the way that blink did.

I only listen to International Superhits if I'm in a GD mood.

 

I thought that album was super overrated. Haha.

Different strokes, I guess.

 

American Idiot got me into music, so... yeah, no chance haha. I like Blink enough, but they never clicked for me a tremendous amount either. ATL is for me what Blink was for the slightly older generation

 

American Idiot is a good record, but all of the singles being overplayed to death on tv and radio kind of killed it for me.

When did you discover blink? I think if I got into blink at a later age I wouldn't be anywhere near as into them as I am. I discovered them when I was like 13 and because of that I have a huge attachment to them.

 

Probably like 8th grade, so I think I was like 13 or 14 too

I feel like Blink got a lot of you into music in general, or at least music of the alternative/punk variety. That's Green Day for me. American Idiot was the first album I ever bought on my own, and still my favorite of all time. I've seen them live twice and both were incredible experiences, and absolutely nothing hypes me up like an upcoming new Green Day album. I even really like the trilogy; they only have maybe 3 or 4 songs I don't like.

Not to say I don't love Blink too though obviously, I think my top three artists of all time are

1. Green Day
2. Kanye West
3. Blink-182

 

I became really into blink around the time Up All Night came out. Only knew the singles and some tracks off Enema prior to then.
