What's crazy is different Hodor = hold the door theories have been out there for a while.

Here's someone talking about their conversation with GRRM on the subject from a few years ago.

Loved the Jorah/Dany scene, they earned that. Sophie Turner's been excellent as well. And man, the Hodor sequence was a whirlwind. Just incredible and tragic and beautiful and it made me feel a whole lot of things.

Does anybody know what the red priestess was on about with Varys? Have we heard it before on the show? I know he's talked about it before but I don't remember any details.

Spent some time thinking about it. I think Bran warged into past Hodor, then brough past Hodor's consciousness into present Hodor to control him. Bran then warged back into his own past consciousness but left past Hodor's consciousness in present Hodor creating the Hodor we know, a vessel with no consciousness endlessly repeating his final instructions.

I recall him talking about the sorcerer and burning his genitals for a spell or something like that. But, the thing about the voice calling out is all new information.

Goddamn, that episode was so good. Definitely the best of the season and one of their best overall. I cried so much during that end sequence. I can't believe they would take Summer and Hodor from us in the same episode. That's so fucking cruel.

I thought everything was really good. Emilia killed in her stuff with Jorah, Arya's stuff was great, and Sansa was a boss ass bitch. The Kingsmoot was pretty good as well, so I guess Yara and Theon are going to try to make it to Dany first.

I also loved Tyrion throwing Varys' line from last season's premiere back in his face.

Okay trying to get my thoughts together....Fuck it I'm not spoilering this time either.

Bran-What more can be said about the final sequence? I really didn't think it was going to down like that when the 3ER said you fucked up and got to go. Summer was so upsetting and then Hodor was just heartbreaking. Ugh. I'm still not quite sure what happened with Hodor...Bran was somehow in the past and warged into Hodor in the future, and that somehow got into Hodor of the past. The reveal of the White Walker origin is awesome to me, I loved seeing that. I somehow never guessed that they were made as a weapon by the Children. Also they seemed pretty angry with the 3ER, I wonder if he was kind of the old foe they had been searching for to destroy before they made their move South. He seemed upset too, though I'm not sure what exactly about. Obviously dying after living so long would suck but there was something else there in his look, a deep sadness.

The Wall-I enjoy the pieces moving into place here. Sansa about to make a grand tour of the North to find allies? Brienne off to find the Blackfish? Yaaas. TBH this was the one time I was hoping someone would forgive Littlefinger, I'd like to see him and his Knights of the Vale helping out Sansa, even though we know he's in it for himself. But it was probably the smart move on Sansa's part to tell him to GTFO. I like that they're setting up for a possible Manderly-Stark alliance too. Lol at Tormund still eyeing up Brienne.

Mereen-That Dany/Jorah scene was pretty emotional too, if overshadowed by the rest of the episode. I can't imagine Jorah actually finds a cure, but I really have no idea where that ends up leading. The Red Priestess freaking the fuck out of Varys was cool too, you hardly ever see Varys shook like that. I really want to know what the voice said and who the voice was now. I'm guessing it was "The Great Other" aka the Night's King and all that, but still. Tyrion garbling Dany's titles was a funny touch too lol

Iron Islands-Thought they did the Kingsmoot pretty well, but it was just completely overshadowed by the rest of the episode. Euron didn't come off as 'crazy' enough though. I thought Alfie Allen did a great job of showing how hard Theon had to work to hold it together long enough to say all those things publicly. I really have no clue where the hell they're going right now with that fleet though. Are they going to steal Euron's idea and go to Dany themselves? Where the hell else could they actually go?

Braavos-I actually liked this whole sequence too. Watching "no one" struggle with the play as they made fun of Arya's father and sister and all that. Interested to see where this goes...

I actually remember what episode this was from. It was in "And Now His Watch is Ended". Varys had gotten ahold of the sorcerer who dismembered him. I'm pretty sure the voice in the flame was mentioned as well.

When Varys told his story to Tyrion, he talked about hearing a voice call out and all that. actually, he may have mentioned the voice during his talk with Tyrion before the Blackwater, now that I think of it. So we have heard about the voice before.

Gemma Whelan, who plays Yara Greyjoy is actually older than the actor who plays Euron Greyjoy.

Yeah, I think that is the general idea of it. He essentially crossed some wires in the past Hodor's brain trying to control Hodor in the present.

So the ending made me totally forget about the CotF creating the White Walkers!!! That's such an interesting development.
