    Not newbie, I think Supporter

I enjoy his voice now and agree it's more beautiful but I prefer the grungy crunch he use to have in his voice.

    I hate spoilers. Supporter

I’m loving this steady stream of MO covers we’ve been getting.

3 in the last couple months!

This cover is so amazing. Maybe it’s also because I have a pretty big emotional connection to The Avett Brothers. Love the far distant harmony.

Now I'm really interested in checking out the original too. Cover is excellent of course as expected.

Footage of them recording it from the documentary May It Last

I really wish whoever uploaded this had kept the next few minutes of footage, because you see just how emotionally draining it was for them to perform

in the apple store waiting for them to replace my phone battery and "The Gold" comes on... its amazing how much "nostalgic" attachment I have to a song that hasn't even been out for a year. lol

If anyone was wondering the departure with Chris was not a good one.. “when I left that band I was like a battered wife”

Yikes. I’m not gonna listen to 86 minutes of that. Can you give the cliff notes?

My guess is Andy is really hard to work with. I’ve heard he’s a huge perfectionist and really pushed the band with this record. I think the end result showed that it was the right move though.

Here's a few cliff note quotes:

    * I just didn't want to do it anymore. I didn't want to write that record (ABMTTS) and I didn't want to be there anymore. I don't see myself here anymore so I'm gonna go.'

    * It saved my marriage to get out of the band.

    * I haven't spoken with the band since September. I don't really mourn the loss of the friendship.

    * It was an odd experience to be in the band. Hard to explain. I left the band as a battered wife from an abusive husband

I always find it odd when someone is willing to speak so negatively on a public platform like that. I feel like it calls into question the character of that person as much as, if not more than, the people they're criticizing. If something serious has happened that deserves to be called out (like actual abuse) then say it, but if you're on bad terms with your friends because of bad experiences then it doesn't seem cool making it public.

This isn't band bias speaking. I honestly don't have enough invested in the guys in Manchester Orchestra to be disappointed if I did find out the band is made up of jerks. And in Chris's defense, he does sound genuinely hurt. I just find it odd. I felt the same way to a much greater extent when the Farros left Paramore.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Comparing yourself to a battered wife is a really bad look, yikes
