Yeah, I'm being dramatic. That pledge preview looked so good though and this video doesn't flow and looks so poorly put together.

At best, we got some more SOTY footage though.

Ryan’s solo in How Can We Go On is so fucking good. I think it might knock The Antidote’s solo out of the top spot.

Hmmm. That's a toughy. The Antidote's is sooo short but is perfection. HCIGO takes a bit to build, but once that double kick from Josh comes in and Dan screams, the solo takes off and never ceases to get me pumped.

My favorite is still Taste the Poison though.

I'll have to agree with @Davjs on the Taste the Poison solo, I mean that is just perfect.

However, the solo in How Can We Go On is by far the best part of the song, and might just be the best part of the album.

Yeah, Taste the Poison is incredible. It’s short but it has everything: shredding, dive bombs, tapping. HCWGO, Antidote, and Poison are definitely my top 3.

    1. What song(s) do you think has the catchiest chorus?
-Probably a toss up between Miracle or We're Not Gonna Make It

    2. What song(s) do you think has the best guitar riffs?
-Our Time is Now, Is This My Fate or Welcome to Our New War!

    3. Which album do you think has the best lyrical content?
    -The Black Swan

    4. What song(s) do you think has the coolest drum parts?
-Is This My Fate, esp the bridge to that song. Bang Bang is a runner up, jams the whole way through and that bridge build up is great!

    5. What's your favorite "slow" song?
-Holding Onto You. Dan's voice is so great in it.

    6. Which album has the best overall sound/production?
The Black Swan. Everything sounds so great in it. Always loved Michael Baskette's work and has done some of my favorite albums.

    7. How did you discover this band / what song got you into them?
-Seeing the music video for Anthem of Our Dying Day on Fuse. Live in the Lou came out shortly after and I picked it up and that live concert changed my life haha. I never missed a Story of the Year concert yearly in STL after that until the most recent Wolves release show.

Can’t wait to answer those after work tonight. Might have to do a full on SOTY sesh to hone in on my answers.

Ryan is an amazing guitarist. When I heard a member was no longer in the band I was afraid it was going to be him.

No disrespect to any of the others, but I think without Dan’s voice and Ryan’s guitar playing, it can’t be SOTY. Their styles are too ingrained in the band’s sound for anyone else to take it over.

It's hard to argue with that, esp on albums.

In a live setting though, I will always think they need Phil's backing vocals/guitar spin kicks and Adam's screams/headbangs.........but that's just the fanboy in me haha.

On my 2nd listen through of Wolves this week. Album is still so good. I'm so happy with these guy's discography. For me, they only have one small blemish if anyone cares to guess.

I honestly missed Adam more than I miss Phil, even though Phil contributed more to the band’s sound, in an obvious way at least. I think it’s the heaviness factor.

bahaha what!?!?! No way, I love that album.

It's that In the Shadows dubstep song on their acoustic album. Esp when they left out Burning Years and Falling Down due to time constraints, would have loved them to not waste time on that song and do another. Besides that small mistake though, I feel like all 6 albums are perfection.

I do hope Adam brings back some of the more heavy I wanted from Wolves. I'm so happy he's back though, even if it is at the expense of another member. Honestly Phil never fit that well on bass and wish they just would have replaced the Adam with a friend and kept him on guitar.

Jesus, what a show that must have been... and back when all the bands went nuts on stage. Is that the best show you've been to?
