Yea it's been snowing for a couple hours in Chicago too. So depressing. I just want to listen to Kacey while I drive into the sunset is that too much to ask

This album is my AOTY so far, and the only thing i could see topping it is if Friendly Fires decides to drop one this year...or the 1975.

Saw Kacey open for Little Big Town on Thursday. It was a terrific performance. Had seen her once before in a smaller theater, so was interested to see how she adapted to an arena. Turns out, she did it well! Even took advantage of LBT’s satellite stage to do a solo acoustic performance of Merry Go Round. I was very impressed with her voice. Sounds just like on albums. She only played one song from Pageant Material, but the new songs went over great. Two covers really drew in the full crowd too. Looking forward to seeing her headline again.

I like the album a lot. I even like High Horse now that I heard it in the context of the album. She's such a good writer.

“Happy and Sad” is the only song o don’t really care for, feels a little minor compared to the rest of the record.

“Slow Burn” is one of her best. “Lonely Weekend” “Space Cowboy” “Love is a Wild Thing” “Mother” and “Oh What a World” are my favorites. Whole thing is amazing though.

I actually think "Happy and Sad" is one of the most insightful songs of her career, lyrically.

Agreed. I've totally been in that space before, and I love that someone finally wrote a song about it. Wish I'd thought of that concept.

when i play "happy & sad" always think of that scene in sing street when conor's brother is like "these guys are happy-sad". then they start blasting the cure.

but yea i totally get that feel. it's like nostalgia for the present

Well good luck and drive safe, snow has been hanging around the area longer than usual this year!

Also, tell your singer to be prepared for Laramie, which is over 7,000 feet above sea level

  24. wow! that's a lottttt of feet above sea level. haha. we are like... 4,000 feet where we live. and thanks for the pro tips! we'll be careful.
