i guess i should check this out. haven't really liked anything since me vs. the highway but this praise is pretty overwhelming.

 

I get it. I get why people really like those songs but they just don't do anything for me. When I love a song from the band, I really love it.

On the Funeral discussion, I think what ruined it a bit for me is reading about it. I do really like the 'two birds...' part of it but I went in to it expecting a Cartel-esque 'A' moment and that's definitely the best example of a band doing a coda callback song and I love that. I expected that on Funeral and didnt get it.

On this album... Raining In Kyoto is doing it for me. I absolutely love that into Pyramids of Salt and I'm really on board. Heavens still is a real misstep but I'm connecting with this more each listen. Can't wait to form more opinions.

Omg the misery that is her life... Not that TWY don't put on great shows, on the contrary, but their crowds are the worst mix of douches, hysterical teens, and boring old dudes
