    Funny Story Time:

In Highschool, when that HH song was HUGE, I was in Spanish. We had vocab words one week including "to cut" "wrist" and "eyes." I got sent to the principals office for translating "Cut my wrist and black my eyes." I also failed because I translated it very poorly.

That's what I'm saying!? HH was huuuuuge in my area. It didn't even matter what clique you were in...everyone jammed to that band in 04/05.

Additionally, those guys fucking dominated Purevolume back in the day.

Maybe it's an age thing, like Jason said they got big in 04-06 area and so did that genre. Which was right around when I was finishing high school and everyone either listened to that type of music or hip hop. Many people knew that band.

Which is sad, I always felt this band's popularity dropped before it should and that they don't get enough credit nowadays but maybe that's just personal bias

Well I still know a lots of people from Prague who jammed on HH around 2005/07 in that ,,black hair" era so probably Ohio and Prague thing hah,but Silverstein and Hawthorne Heights were bands who dominated for real.i love all that shit what reminds me highschool years

Were the kids that were into HH usually the same ones that were into Aiden? It's hard to remember. All I recall is never fitting into that crowd because I wasn't goth. No one believed that I listened to MCR. 5th/6th grade was a crazy time, haha.

    Things have changed.

Yeah, Hawthorne Heights' first two records went gold, and their second one debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200. They were a big band. Now? Barely hanging on. They seem like nice guys, though, but it's about over.

  8. Hawthorne Heights had the luxury of coming up right around the time that FOB and MCR started to take over IIRC. They were always bigger than bands like Bayside or Thrice but not big enough to go platinum on a single album.

I was always thinking that Aiden and AFI are one same band back then and call that funeral music, I was more into FacetoFace,Millencolin and Lagwagon as kid and then came this wave....and I became ,,emo" in my 17s for 2 years and my bands were Afi,Aiden,Hawthorne Heights,Silverstein and Alkaline Trio for some reason hahah and that ,,bird view" selfies of myslef from that times are pretty insane.but it was part of growing up and Alkaline Trio are still my number one band.so Matt Skiba joining Blink is awesome for me.

  12. Not to mention HH got late night tv appearances. So that has to mean something. Also, they very popular amongst everyone in my high school when they came out.

silence in black and white went platinum and if only you were lonely might have went gold. I think that one also debuted at number 3 on the charts. They were definitely really big for a brief time but AAR had the prolonged success and the top 40 play.

EDIT: looks like silence was just gold. 800,000k+ is still very impressive though

I mean, that's pretty cool... The first time I saw Blink (May 1999) Mark rapped the verse to "Bring Tha' Noise" by Public Enemy during the bridge. It was kind of a thing for a bit where Mark would do that during the bridge (rap a random hip-hop song).

Always fun, and kind of wish they'd bring that back.

Less than 6 weeks till the record is out! I'm surprised we don't even have rumours of when to expect the next single.

And Tom shouting "take your pants off!" at the beginning. I heard him do it so many times during live videos that I still shout it when I listen to the song haha

    "I'll chew on a dog!"

    Same.

Finding TMTATS cd in my old high school room at the beginning of the year was such a treat. Jammed that album SO hard.

Had no idea it was Matt singing the verses...They sound awfully similar

I used to listen to so many live blink 182 songs. whenever they inserted something not on the album it always stuck with me. Heck, at the end of Josie they once said "orgasm" then it went into "i know that everything"
or "you will be fine you fucking asshole!"
"how old are you?" "twenty seven"

haha well in my defense I found out when I watched the live video a few days ago--just got around to posting it though

Idk why but while they sound similar, I can tell the difference between matt's verse and chorus and mark's verse and chorus

I didn't realize it was Matt singing the second verse until the end of it when his voice breaks a bit and I'm a huge Alk3 fan. I think it's a combination of them having sort of similar voices and whatever filter is used on them.

    I am a haunted house. I'm superstitious.

Also, wasn't "Attic Kids" the name of Mark's band in his teenage years? That reference would make more sense
