you're not dumb. chemistry is just hard, no matter who you are. if you don't have a bunch of classes you've dropped already i'd look into taking the class again with a different professor. ratemyprofessor is your friend

 

yo do i take an extra semester to stick with japanese or do i graduate at the pace i expected to by switching to spanish (im bilingual and already speak spanish so i feel weird about it)

 

Take Spanish and graduate, then study Japanese outside of school if you’re that passionate about it. A semester is a long ass time

 

god, yeah it is. this shit is dragging and at the same time I'm in wild disbelief at only having roughly 2 semesters left. time has very little meaning in college

 

if the entire class is struggling, it shows a real fault in the teacher. is there anyone in the class you know or talk to? maybe you could work together to make sense of the stuff. i was lucky when i took chem since i really clicked with my lab partner and my prof was pretty clear about things. i also watched some videos on kahn academy; they have intro chem stuff on there.

 

i keep seeing things for the 2018 commencement ceremony and getting bummed out. its for the best that i postpone graduating, but at the same time i just want to be done with it. i dropped the only class i was really learning anything new in and the others are so boring, i have to fight myself to stay on campus and go to class.

 

It's okay I keep seeing things about my commenecement and getting existential dread and panic attacks over having to get a job and be a person imminently

 

I just got my test grade back from Bio. I got a low C which is basically a miracle considering how much I guessed. That's my lowest test grade so I am super fine with it. Cs get degrees is deff my motto these days.

 

A few of my friends already dropped the course. My roommate is also currently failing like me. The professor's style of teaching just doesn't click for me. I got a B- in chem I last semester but now I just don't get it.

I talked to my professor to ask him if I should drop or stay in. He basically said while mathematically I can pass (I need a 73 average on the rest of the exams and quizzes) but I should "take the L and retake the course". He said he can't decide for me, but if he could, he would just tell everyone failing to drop it. To end the conversation he said, "Maybe lightning will strike you and change something, but I'm looking around and I don't see any thunder"

 

I'm still not a person and it's been almost 8 years don't worry

 

What a dick. I guess if you're really struggling and he's not doing anything different to help, it might be better to take it again with someone else.

 

That professor sounds like an asshole

I mean I arguably have 2 or more years left of school (bachelors and then possibly more) but since I haven't committed fully to a bachelors yet, I'm still feeling this dread and panic.

 

deadlines and due dates mean nothing to me anymore, I'll turn both my late assignments tomorrow it's spring break ok

 

I'm probably just going to drop chem and take it in the summer. Right now the class average is a 68. About half the class is either failing or has a D. Highest grade in the class is an 85. He's clearly a shitty professor but does the school care? Nah

 

Spring break has ruined me. I do not want to be here at all lol someone end this suffering

 

Got my first midterm back. Ya boi got an A

 

Decided to wait till now to check if I had homework for my 8:15 tomorrow morning, gonna be a long night......

 

Lol dude, I feel ya. Didn't realize until earlier that I have a project and a paper due tomorrow and I'm still in class for another two hours. Only two more months until the semester is over!

Fuck. Yes. Just got my second midterm back. Another A. Makes me think that if I finished my third midterm I would have gotten an A on that too

 

Lmao, wow. I’m reading her notes on my midterm paper and she underlined one of my points and goes, “Yes! James! You were the only one who ‘got’ this.” I’m tellin y’all, a little bit of bullshit goes a long way
