    I do not exist.

Maybe it’s a reflection of the change in sound... it had to start somewhere... may as well have been the opening track!

I guess haha... just too on the nose for me I suppose. Not like it really bothers me or anything lol, it’s a great opener.

its the only interesting song title though, and now upon getting through my first listen, probably the best song. i have very weird feelings; some unorganized thoughts:

i liked it, i never thought "this is bad," but a lot of it was underwhelming, especially the choruses. lots of cool verses that made me ok with the direction change though, and theres enough atmosphere and frenetic pacing to make it feel like an UO album. i thought aaron stole the show, both in voice and melodies. way less screaming and way less heavy than i anticipated, even despite the comments. the sleepwave-choruses are the glaring con. in the future i hope they focus on the catchier and/or weirder stuff. sink with you was also underwhelming for the praise it got here. wake up's verses are great, the chorus sucks.
there's enough good here that ik ill keep coming back to it and it'll keep growing, so I'm looking forward to that process.

I think I echo what people are saying about some choruses. There is a lot interesting things happening around them though

Ihateit, Wake Me, and Rapture are trash tier. On My Teeth, Bloodlust, and In Motion are decent tier. And the rest are in the awesome tier. And yeah, the problem with the ones that aren't in the awesome tier is definitely the chorus. I feel like Rapture is the only song here that just isn't salvageable. I didn't mind it at first, but after hearing the rest it's just so bland by comparison. But the other tracks start off so promisingly, and have nice bridges in outros and stuff like that, but then the chorus kicks in and I can't help but cringe.

  14. Yeah, this isn't that bad. I don't really like most of it, but on the whole it's not like this is some abysmal, unlistenable piece of work. It's pretty mediocre radio rock with some Underoath-y flair mixed in, which honestly is what I expected from the singles. There are a couple of really bad songs, a couple of really cool ones, and a bunch that are fine for what they are but just aren’t really my cup of tea, and probably will never return to.

Biggest surprise overall is definitely the quieter parts. Love the muted drums sounds they got on parts like the verses of Bloodlust. Really cool Thrice-y vibes there. I have my reservations when it comes to Squire but he did a good job with this. My biggest gripe overall is Spencer's voice -- it's just super grating to me. It's the only thing that even turns me off from the songs I actually do like on this.

Hold Your Breath, No Frame, and I Gave Up are the three tracks I like a lot.

i can't really separate this into tiers as i think each song has its ups and downs. people severely underrated rapture though; has one of the best choruses.

after 3 listens i already like it more.

I'm still on my first listen--and I don't hate it or dislike it--but this is the sort of album I expected to follow TOCS (or Saosin to make around the same time). Which isn't exactly what I wanted from them, considering what album(s) actually followed TOCS. But I think I can come around to this after the shock wears off.

Thank you!! It’s actually the first longer review I’ve written in quite a while, just got really busy with life stuff and wasn’t feeling inspired for a while. Finally snapped out of writers’ block and got back into it.

Sink With You gives me STRONG Deftones vibes. Like, if Deftones was a metalcore band, it would sound something like that song.

Fuck the back half of this just rules. Loving the whole thing, but it is just batting 100 from Sink With You on.

I can understand people's displeasure with the radio friendly songs like Wake Me & Rapture, but they still sound a million times more creative than most radio friendly rock songs IMO & they are still enjoyable.
