IIRC the dudes from Orgy played Parker Fly's (VEEEEERY expensive at the time - they came equipped with those Roland MIDI pickups that worked with all those crazy synth pedals)

    EDIT: Yup. Parker Fly.

just sold my TC Flashback X4 and bought a OBNE Dark Star off one of my band mates. Flashback X4 was cool, just too big and a little too much for my liking. Really excited to have the procession and dark star in my arsenal now though.

yeah ive had the Procession for over a year now and i cant imagine playing without it at this point. besides like my overdrive / distortion stuff, its the most vital pedal on my board.

Swapped the neck, original was something awful. Feels great. Thinking I'll swap pickups in summer, love the options the setup has.

i need to swap the neck in my strat because its totally bowed. otherwise i love the guitars sound, its just a pain in the ass to get the intonation right.

its like Fender Korean which is weird, the body and pick ups are great but the neck is terrible.

Wrecked 'em? Damn near killed 'em!

Awesome amp  I love mine to pieces, only drag is it's at my parents house and my gf is unsure about letting me move it into our place since we don't have a lot of spare space and it gets loud too. Trying to see about investing in a smaller tube amp between 5w and 15w.

Maybe don't get it from Guitar Centre. Sounds like they've not been looking after them at all.

oh really? weird considering they’ve been advertising the partnership so heavily

There's a few videos on Youtube doing the rounds which suggest that the Standard series stuff is getting sent out in a fairly half arsed fashion. If you buy them online, it looks like they're taking them out of the shipping boxes they receive them in and then sending them on to customers without checking them at all.

Admittedly, those could just be bad experiences a couple of people have had (and there's enough people on the 'Fuck Chapman' bandwagon that I'd take everything with a pinch of salt), but it doesn't look great.

Obviously, if you can go into the store and try the one you want to buy, you don't need to worry.

Just typical internet bitterness really. There's a lot of people who seem to be pissed off that Chapman wants to build a brand and make money. It obviously gets up their noses that the brand gets a lot of screen time on Youtube (both on Andertons and elsewhere) too. Look in the comments on Andertons or any of the recent Chapman unboxing videos. You'll see what I mean.

The turning point seemed to be when they decided to split the brand between an uprated Korean line (Pro) and the budget Indonesian (Standard) line. It seems like a lot of people got it in their head that that was proof that Chapman are somehow bad or exploiting....something? I've yet to see any sensible arguments against them, tbh.

So, when the ML3 became the ML3 Pro, people kicked off because it was suddenly £200-300 more expensive. But they seem to be wilfully ignoring the fact that Brexit happened (basically all musical gear in the UK has gone up in price noticeably since that) and that the old ML3 spec is a lot lower end than the new Pro. You also see dumbasses moaning that they're using their own custom humbuckers now instead of SDs, without ever actually playing the damn things. It just feels like moaning for the sake of it.

The expectations seem way off as well. I've seen a couple of unboxing videos where the complaints are just ridiculous. One guy opened the box, plugged in the guitar, twiddled the pots and switches and then just went: "Oh, the electronics are terrible, they'll have to go."

    Based on what??

I'm not even that sold on the Chapman guitars myself. The ones I played (prior to the current line) were decent for the money, but I wasn't blown away. I think they're something you really need to go have a play with if you can, because the stuff online is all over the place.

i gotcha. yeah. everyone associated with the brand seem pretty genuine and nice dudes, so i’m hopeful the brand gets some success. as far as the baritone goes, i’ve loved videos showing how it sounds, though i am a bit concerned now about how GC handles them, since i don’t have any way of playing one in person

Mine has a little button near the tone knob that changes the pickups between active and passive. Just so many tones available in that guitar and it plays great. Would love to get my hands on more of Godin’s stuff but I think I just got lucky finding a used one here.
