I haven’t heard of Press Club or Paper Rifles, but I’ll have to check those out. Did you enjoy the Red City Radio EP? I think @Larry David and @Shrek would like that too.

The first song in the OP sounds exactly like The Menzingers lol

That being said! I like that song and I like “Joanna”, which sets them apart a bit. Keyboards are a nice touch here

Press Club are a Melbourne band that are kind of difficult to pigeon-hole, sort of soaring indie-punk/uplifting noise-pop if that makes any sense at all, their debut album Low Teens was just released a few weeks ago and its brilliant. Paper Rifles are an Edinburgh based melodic punk band, their album The State of it All is full of high tempo, sing-along punk rock with harmonies for days, I'd highly recommend checking both out.
I've only given the new Red City Radio a quick listen but I do dig the band in general, just need to spend a bit more time with it.

Alright, guys. I take it back. This isn't as much like the Menzingers as I first thought. And this is really good! Love it.

Constant rotation for me, def a contender for AOTY or at least top 5.

I love the emotion poured into this thing, can't remember the last time a pop punk record gave me so many chills

This is like the perfect spring record, weather is warming up and even though lyrically its crushing I'm just enjoying the hell out of it. I knew I was going to love this from about 30 seconds in to the cd when the music cuts low and then he belts out "well fuck, I'm miserable".

Whoa the end of Bellyache was incredible.

This is my favorite release of the year that has anything to do with punk. It's so fucking bleak though. It's the soundtrack to me taking on hour to put on my goddamn socks.

The ending of "Aloha to No One" cuts deep. Was waiting for a silver lining that never came :(

  17. This is probably my favorite album of the year so far. I may have already listened to it more than TWY, surprisingly, and I've had at least one song stuck in my head every day for the past week.

  18. How hard does this hit in terms of lyrics about depression/anxiety/mental health etc.? I've been told I should give it a listen but it might be too much for me in my current condition. Sometimes I like listening to sad shit when I'm depressed and then other times I'm just like, nope, can't deal with this

It hits very hard. Self-deprecating lyrics across the board.

For me, those types of lyrics help me through times of depression if that makes sense. Almost a sense of knowing you're not alone

It’s pretty blatant, but like Larry said, it’s the main draw for me. The song Beer and NyQuil (Hold It Together) is probably my favorite song of the year so far, and it’s definitely much more positive than the rest of the album. I would check that one out, maybe
